Removed tatty kale leaves and generally tidied and weeded the brassica cage. The GH lettuce had the same treatment went indoors once the temperature dropped.

Potted up some pre-chitted now sprouting, really old Broad Beans.
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs! https://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gr...lies/smile.gif

          Turned the compost bin.
Finished weeding and then feeding them strawberry and grape beds.
Planted my onions sets, and my first and second early potatoes.

Started cutting down the big cherry tree in the garden. Got most of it down (all of the crown), but cutting through the trunk with just a bow saw is going to be difficult work...

Finished cutting down the cherry tree (felling the trunk as hard work), and shredded about a third of the branches thin enough to go through the shredder.

Did a bit more pruning of our old apple tree, potted on some tomatoes and coriander, sowed broccoli seeds. Added some lime to my brassica beds. .

Dredged up the remaining half of the duck potato crop from their bathtub, which was hard work as the mud was very thick, heavy and sticky. I then levelled the mud out again, mixed in some poultry manure, and replanted four of them for this year's crop.
Potted up some seeds which I had been sprouting on damp kitchen roll (tenderstem broccoli, various peppers, and two pepino seeds).

Started clearing out the greenhouse which a neighbouring plot holder kindly said I could have. I've cleared out all the contents and removed and cleared up the broken glass (only two panes). Next job will be removing the the rest of the glass and detaching it from its base.

Yeah, I plan on just moving the whole frame in one piece once I've taken the glass out, too. Being so close to my plot makes things a lot more convenient.

Hope you’re not too bad with it?

Lots of weeding again but this time in a flower border. Spotted a couple of ladybirds tucked into leaves so I tucked them back into the hedge
Too cold to continue so finishing it off will be a job for another day.

It’s our first of the year council green bin collection this week, so we’ve been out gathering up fallen branches from our Silver birch tree collected 4 trugs full.

Pricked out Kale, Summer PSB, Sprouts, Pak Choi, Rainbow Chard and Spinach. It was so lovely and warm in the greenhouse, I really enjoyed pottering about in there.
