I’m planting my garlic this weekend.

Its been raining all day so I’ve been looking at moon planting garlic & next weekend is better for planting garlic when the moon light is lessoning or waning. So I’m planting the garlic next weekend & nothing needs doing out there today

The Honeycomb tomato at the allotment has blight, which is not a surprise given how much tangled foliage there was. I spent a couple of hours removing and chopping up the worst of it but the plant was so huge that I ran out of time and space in the compost bin. I'm busy all day today and tied to the house waiting for an appointment between 8 and 5 tomorrow, so the plan is to go to the allotment when I have eaten my breakfast and remove as much of the remaining plant as I can. The Honeycomb is entangled with the Sungold, so that will definitely also have blight and really needs to be removed today too...

I did manage to get the blighted tomatoes removed yesterday, but nothing much else has got done. Another busy day today but I might possibly get some gardening done tomorrow.

Foggy and chilly today and totally uninspiring, so all I did was harvest tomatoes, cucumber and spinach, squirt the aphids with dilute washing up liquid again and throw out the stored tomatoes that were showing signs of blight.

Very busy yesterday trying to make the most of the weather. Did some weeding, removed some dead cucumbers and courgettes and yellow brassica leaves, cut down the runner beans to about 3ft (they are still very green with flower buds) and gave the weigela bush a heavy prune as several of the older branches had no new growth. Some bulbs I ordered arrived so I planted some of them in pots. Also checked for blight and aphids and harvested tomatoes and a courgette.
