Yesterday was rather wet for gardening and today is cold and the ground is saturated.

Also removed some dead leaves from the romanesco and one of the plants which had finished. Pruned the buddleia in the west hedge.

Today I intend to stay indoors as it is far too wet for gardening!

Not quite sure where today went, but everywhere is still very wet. Harvested some beetroot and sprayed the aphids with soapy water. Yesterday I ate the first of the satusumas.

Your own satsumas, Penellype?

Yes. The baby satsumas were on the tree when I bought it (as were the lemons). The challenge will be to get the trees to flower and set fruit again next year.

Today the intention was more of the same, but after weeding under the hedge at the allotment I decided the most urgent job was to cut back the grass edges before the foot long creeping stems rooted themselves in the depths of the hedge. I don't ever remember having to trim grass edges on Christmas Eve before!

No gardening time tomorrow or Boxing Day.

Today I must check for aphids on the PSB at the allotment and harvest some beetroot and carrots. Unlikely to have time for much else.
