Can you describe your raspberry corralling method Pen? I've got a rampant autumn raspberry that's trying to escape to the paths that border our plot.

Raspberries have shallow roots, so all you really need to do to keep most of the roots under control is to put some sort of barrier round the edge. I'm using plastic lawn edging which goes down about 6 inches and is easily knocked into place with a mallet. I use the same stuff to keep the grass paths back off the raised beds and it works for most of the grass, but not (of course) the horsetail.Originally posted by Andraste View PostCan you describe your raspberry corralling method Pen? I do things like that. There are various jobs that I have to be in the right frame of mind for, particularly clearing up the garage and shed, which become dumping grounds for things like nets, covers and plant pots and can get so cluttered that I can barely move in there. I will find almost anything to do instead unless I actually feel like tidying up!Originally posted by Nicos View PostDidn’t do any of the above….made jam instead!
Then cleaned the kitchen…

My cleaning actually started off wiping up splattered jam off the walls, cupboards, floor….
….which then, one thing led to another….
Glad I’m not the only one who gets distracted!

The planting out has been suffering from a log-jam. I couldn't plant the calabrese in the carrot cage because the romanesco was sheltering from butterflies in their place and I couldn't plant the romanesco at the allotment as the cauliflowers were in the way. The buckets for the calabrese were on the bed where the tomatoes are to be planted and the tomatoes are on the shelf in the greenhouse where the peppers are going.
I took the romanesco plants to the allotment and was intending to plant them, but when I removed the last cauliflower I found a lot of aphids in it. I therefore decided that planting more brassicas straight away was asking for trouble, so they will have to stay on the shelf in the tunnel for a day or 2. I also decided that it was too cool and windy to plant tomatoes outdoors, so the peppers are having to wait indoors... June/early July is always a bit of a logistics nightmare.
