  • leeks going to seed

i planted my mussleburgh leeks into my raised beds in mid may and they have been growing very well but i have had to pull two due to them going to seed. they have been fine to eat. why would they be going to seed so early as there not supposed to be ready until the autumn. did i plant them too early maybe.

That's strange. Leeks are biennial and shouldn't flower until next year. You did sow them this year?

They might have dried out and panicked into going to seed I found this a problem with raised beds on light soil
