Three things I found helpful when I built my Waltons. 'Potable' silicone grease for any slidey bits, glazing silicone to give extra security to the glazing panels and best of all a small socket spanner in a battery drill. Theres an awful lots of nuts to tighten.

Thanks for the kind words and tips, but rain has stopped play which is probably just as well as levelling the base is proving a little more complicated than anticipated(was on the verge of swearing....not like me at all that ) anbody wanna have a 'Put the greenhouse together party i'll provide beer and food, just not home grown cos i cant get me GH up '

Before i got the greenhouse i used a 12ft piece of timber laid it out where the GH was going and the ground seemed pretty level with a 2" run off for water, however put the base together sited it to find that one side is about 6" off square!!!!!! But hey ho will stick with it.

Okay as promised some pics, have to say it was a bitty faffy, the nuts and bolts were never designed to be used by someone with normal size fingers The amount of times i dropped nuts the air was just constantly blue . However that said i am so pleased with it, the space inside is FAB

The guttering was a lot easier than i thiought and it really did pull the whole structure together and make it rigid.

Have to say though i would not erect another one, my fingers and hands are cut scrapped and beaten(quiter literally not a very good shot with a hammer )
Only bracing straps and doors needed to complete, the base is sat on 6" * 2" timbers buried into ground and set in concrete.

When i looked at it from the bedroom window i thought that doesnt look very big!!!! then i looked at my neighbours 8 * 6 and realised just how big it is

It is very windy here today dry so far but very windy

I'll prob spend days in there quite happily pottering around

Well just been out and put the bracing bars in and assembled the doors, whilst doing that a panel has blown out of the roof which means i now need to remove the guttering to get it back in cos it would be the middle panel :P

But on the whole very happy with it.

Brilliant job yekim, I also had panels blow out as they bow in the wind. Some suggest putting silicone round the sheets, I found it easier yet more unsightly to put 3 horizontal canes on each panel to hold the sheets in place (top, middle & bottom) inc the roof. They have not budged since.

Now that's an inspirational idea Bigmallly, will do that, like i say very happy with it but it looks even bigger cos it's empty......will have to change that soon

If you do happen to use canes, cut them a few mm longer than the sheets (so 2ft+) then put them in the channels at a slight angle & slide them level to give a tight fit........hope that makes sense.

Its hard, but it is possible to get a panel back in without dismantling the greenhouse, 5 minutes after finishing my greenhouse, the dog decided to go down the gap between the shed and greenhouse, and on reversing he knocked out a panel with his fat ass, took two of us to get the panel back in, and I have since ran a bead of silicone on top/bottom of each panel, seems to hold them in alot better, stops them flexing

How the hell did you get it back into 4 chanels? that must mean you have the patience of a saint it was annoying enough trying to get it into 3!!!!!
