    • Having spent an hour yesterday collecting enough blackberries to squeeze out enough juice for 6 ice cubes...I'm covered in itchy bites from insects from the hedgerow

Ah well...I suppose it distracts me from the itchy/painful shingles sores....

      • Weather. We've been in the mid to top 30s today. It's ridiculously hot for this time of year. And still no rain. Forecast was for 90 mm this month. Not even had 0.9.

          • ^Here too. Chickens can't free range, we fear for the cats, and the dogs set up a hullabaloo and howl. Boar hunting is permitted here every day, not just Thursdays and Sundays for all other game. Anyone challenged simply says they're after boar...

Fortunately, the younger generation don't seem to be up for hunting, rather fiddle with their phones, so I guess it will eventually come to a natural end.

That explains the sneaky adverts, shop redecoration and daughters whooping.

It comes around very quickly don’t it.

              • Yet another mouse in the rat trap. Saw the rat at bottom of garden. Maybe it's the mice that are eating all the bait too.

                  • This is my weekly moan........

No clouds in the sky so it’s going to be cold tonight and I haven’t got round to sorting out any kind of protection for my baby plants.
I’m out of milk and don’t like black coffee or tea.
Showed OH a pic of two of our GC in their school uniforms and he asked ‘who are they’ Oh pig poop.
Younger dog has to have a second blood test so she can have her really bad teeth sorted out. She has a terrible fear of the vet.
My lift to the vet on Monday might be quite an adventure as the lady that is taking us has morphine. Nuff said.

                    • BUGGER Just when I'm thinking I could get an early start on the allotment tomorrow, my daughter sends a text message that she is staying over at her mates and not coming home, so I will not be able to get to the allotment until I have the wife up and sorted in the morning.

                      • Telephone call from an Indian gentleman who informed me that he was for Microsoft and that they had noticed that my computer was being hacked. I was not in the mood for playing silly games with them today, I have my Brother-In-Law in hospital following a heart attack and I'm trying to get my wife up to see him each afternoon whilst still keeping up with the work and the housework etc.

I informed him that I was not that stupid or gullible and that Microsoft couldn't give a flying (something) about end users and would not telephone them on this issue. I asked him nicely to remove me from his list and never phone me again, then enquired nicely if he liked sex and travel then put the phone down.

There I feel much better for venting..

The number so you know is 01764654671 it appears that a load of 0176 numbers are used by scammers I've added it to the Whos Calling Me service but why the fudge don't BT just disconnect them or report them to the police ?

If you know the answer PM me as no discussions on this thread

                        • Must be a day for them Cad as I've had 4 of those kind of calls this morning - so much for the TPS.

                          Anyhow, my midweek rant -
I have a Lasting Power of Attorney for my OH. When I got the paperwork through (did it all myself as could'nt afford the briefs fees) I regularly spoke to the lovely people that man the Guardians Office Help line. As we don't own property, business or have shares they said I only needed a Health and Wellbeing LPA.

So, this morning spoke to the private firm who is doing the Councils Financial Assessments for Social Services support. It appears that although our LPA is for Health and Wellbeing I need a financial LPA to be able to sort out my OH's care needs as far as they are concerned.
The rather thick form arrived yesterday and I've got till the 7th Oct to get it back to them. As if.
They want photocopies of everything. I've worked out that I will have to send back not just their 20 page form but 68 photocopied bits of evidence to prove we live in a council bungalow on benefits.

They have given me another week to get it in and I have had to buy a 3 in 1 printer plus an extra ink cartridge so I can cram it all into several A4 envelopes and then pay for guarenteed next day delivery.

I don't have a problem with proving anything but why do they have to make it so piggin difficult and expensive for people who are sometimes crumbling under the strain of being the only person looking after the love of my life because he has Early Onset Dementia and end satge lung disease.

                              • Sadly, as my OH is only 58 and was diagnosed 2 years ago the specialist charities and Carers support etc just don't have much to offer for anyone younger than 65+.
