The Chuffin bin men turning up at such a ridiculous hour, and because we live in a Cul-de-sac, they have to reverse in and can't bother their backsides to turn off the reversing beeper!

Yesterday, no hot water . OH says the water pressure is low. Well I did tell him a hundred times that the bathroom radiator was leaking!! Grrr, so I told him once more and he fitted a new valve (?) and left the bathroom flooded for me to clean up. This morning, really hard frost and the boiler has another error - no heating or hot water again

Right that's it, no it really is. The very last time I buy mail order (ebay) plants.

They never meet expectations.

I have just received a Blueberry which I paid a lot of money for because I wanted a plant that would flower this year. The numb nut who packaged it thought it would be a good idea to trim all the strangely branches so it would be easier to package so the up shot is there are max 4 flower buds on a �17 plant that cost �9 delivery for next day which got delayed a day.

Yes, all my stupid fault. I go round the local GC and see same plant for half the money and mutter "am not paying that!" then same night sat at computer I click buy it. For twice the price - worse- unseen. Not even a picture. I did ring him for assurance there are flower buds (easily seen) "oh yes these are very mature plants plenty of fruit this year". A very old established nursery.

Return it? can't be ##''@@ :-(

Bought 2 lovely big olives trees yesterday to plant in the spare empty bit of land and guess what i bring them home and my friend tells me they are the wrong type and will produce tiny olives so now need another trip to the garden centre oh no

My next door neighbour seems to think a fenced off part of the ROW belongs to him. He's put up a gate using my gatepost thereby preventing me rehanging my gate which was taken down whilst the new kitchen was being built. I had the old cooker, a work surface and a stairgate on the piece of land that he has isolated. These have been unceremonially chucked on my garden and he has put his wheelie bins in their place. Oh and the gate doesn't have a catch so it bangs repeatedly when it's windy.

Just because he's annexed the land doesn't make it his. He's usually fairly reasonable so I feel some tactful words coming up.

Yes they can, the farmer has something that does that! My apple pie made it a thing of the past

Scarlet, the beep beep beeping is to alert the binmen and other pedestrians that the vehicle is reversing. It's a basic Health and Safety tool. The driver may well be able to turn it off but will not be allowed to do so otherwise it would be like a smoke alarm without a battery.

^^^^^^^Council bin lorries are somewhat different to a farmers kit.

Can you see the ever so PC council wallahs allowing their chaps to turn theirs off if they could.

In a lot of road vehicles the reversing horn is activated by a micro-switch which the driver cannot access.
