Morning ladies from a fairly nippy Nestland. I have never been able to get into books as my memory span is zilch, I'm the same with films, I can watch one then a few weeks later I can watch it again & not remember the plot...............have a good one, I've a pond liner needs anchoring down.........

The other half does that ! It drives me crazy! But he forgets the whole film not just the plot.

Morning everyone tired out from last nights party still got guests here so not much time on Internet for me today!

I was a bookworm growing up and now my daughter is a bookworm. We both like factual books more than fiction. She loves reading encyclopedias, Guinness book of records and lots on science - I tend to read less serious books on hobbies, arts and crafts and gardening. We do use the library but I also like my kindle - good for night time reading with the light.

I read more in winter and that's when I get more time for crafts too. In nice weather I'd rather be outside. I do love that you can get a lot of bargains on the kindle - I stick books in my wish list and check for price drops daily. Love it when books that were expensive drop down to just a �1 or two.

Morning its a dry day here so I'll collect leaves then take down my runners and pole beans then give the garden a tidy.
I go to the library but mostly I buy charily shop book or download them to my kindle, just depends what I'm after. I love childrens books and all the classics are free downloads from Am@zon so theres plenty there to keep me happy.

Good sunny Sunday morning,

We drove past the new Indian last night and there was no-one in there so we carry on to the one we normally go to, we have never had a bad meal there and always really enjoy it. We did do something new and ordered several small bits to share rather than the normal tikka, and it was really good.
The bedroom is all ready to be painted and i am avoiding it, i don't mind painting but i want to be lazy. Meh meh meh!!!
No cooking tonight leftovers, i knew there was a reason i cooked too much

Morning all. Grey and breezy here. It was wet overnight so I think the ground may be a bit too damp to do much. We'll see. So, I will do the ironing whilst listening to the Archers omnibus, then get back to the filing and shredding in the office. If I do more than about an hour I lose the will to live!! Taking FiL to BiL's tonight for supper, so no cooking for me

Have agreed with immediate family that we are doing Christmas shopping via Charity Shops this year - no spend bigger than �7.00, that way everyone wins! I bought a lovely Bill Bryson compilation in hardback for my brother and started re-reading it myself. First read them years ago. I had forgotten how funny they are, laugh out loud funny. He and Terry Pratchett are really the only authors who can make me laugh out loud. Love a well-turned sentence. I also like feminist science fiction ... I know .. a tad specialist! Since there is not that much of it around I also read crime fiction - no shortage of that. And it is very escapist, since there is nearly always some kind of resolution at the end of the book, quite unlike real life.

Morning all, I'm tired, cold and it's dark (ish) and damp! Heating's on but I just can't seem to warm up. Lots to do but feel like having a lazy Sunday, what do you think?
I love reading and have got a kindle too. Although I do prefer proper books, the kindle means I can read in bed in the dark and it lets the OH sleep and stops him moaning at me! Like crime novels but can read just about anything. Don't go to the library although I did years ago. We used to have the library van come and my kids came with me when they were babies so have grown up being interested in books. Son is not so keen now though. Anyhoo, have a lovely Sunday everyone whatever you are doing!

Good morning all and its absolutely miserable here. Rain, wind and grey skies.
Not a very uplifting day for me unfortunately.
My mother died at the end of July in a nursing home and I have been invited to the mass for people who passed in the last year.
Dreading it as I havent been there since then.

Morning all, I love books but I don't particulary like films or TV, I really hate comedy! I honestly laugh a lot but I can't stand watching funny films (hate canned laughter) though I will try some Bill Bryson books Susie. I have read terry P but loved Ben Elton books, super funny some of them, though I read them a long time ago now so perhaps will give them another shot. I only read on my kindle these days, no library for me, when ive been there's never much there that interests me and I'm rubbish at taking stuff back! I read all sorts except sci - fi. Bren, have you read hunger games? Eragon? Brill kids books

Well so much so this morning being a dry spell. To be fair i think the rain was just low cloud but I got pretty wet at the allotment. Strimmed the grass and planted 50 tulips for cut flowers next Spring.
Having praised Mr Percy cat for not bringing in any wildlife last night, whilst we were having lunch a vole shot out from under the bookcase. No1 son tried to get it but it had gone back behind the bookcase. Percy is keeping guard, Well he would be if he could keep his eyes open long enough!

Had a great afternoon doing the seed and plant swap.Lots of people arrived with interesting plants and went home laden with things and huuge grins!.

Thank you Marie. Yes, the day did go well but so very very sad. Met others who had been through the same so didnt feel quite so alone.
Lots of staff who looked after my mam and we were able to catch up with them as well.
Glad I went but also glad its over.

Actually, it wasnt a mass but a service for all demonations and as it is remembrence Sunday we prayed for them as well.

Vole update, was caught and dispatched by Percy. He is still by the bookcase hoping for another. Felt sorry for the little thing but there was no way we were going to dismantle the bookcase.
