Terrific scary storm, never known so much lightening, it went away then came back again, thought the end of the world had come, bit it's ok I'm still here.

Popped up to plot, to pick whatever needed picking, but was SO hot, I was dripping in a few minutes, so came home. Managed to pick few black currents, they really need picking now, dropping off.

I didn't stay long down the plot, it's much too hot. I picked stuff, refreshed the slug pellets in the spots I use them then rushed home to the coolth of our air-conditioned study.

Morning at Charity shop, lovely and cool. Afternoon making sandwiches, sausage rolls etc fir a race night at our local football club, sweating buckets. Going potato furtling in a minute. Highlight of my day. I can see more tomatoes ripening, so at least I will have something else to pick until the runners and sweetcorn are ready

Listen carefully. ...can you here it? The sound of ice cubes popping as i cover them in ice cold cider. Had to endure the tube, boy was that hot! Still time to kick back now and relax..arh.....that tastes good!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeevenin' Peeps. Warmish, innit!? To the point of melting, I reckon. Grateful for the air-con in the car. That's the one thing. I'll miss, but hey-ho, the benefits outweigh the little annoyances. After all, how often do you actually need air-con?

Hope no one has melted away in this heat. The car dash said 33 at one point today, just north of Cambridge, early this afternoon. Too hot for me. Seems funny that Feral is battling snow!

Just going to get a glass of Apple and red fruits wine , and up to do my legs. I'm not bothered most of the year (holidays excepted) but I can feel the breeze rippling through the hair on my shins.......

Wondering when the promised thunderstorm is going to break... it is so sticky here. The car dash thermometer said 39 this afternoon Rosie is not sure what to make of it all - she has had two short walks and a play with the dogs in the park and now she is splatted on the floor near the fan.

Before I go to bed hopefully Jeanied, then I could hopefully get a good nights sleep. Hope your animals are ok, when the thunder was loud last night, it instantly brought thoughts of our long departed cat Michael. Fireworks and thunder had him cowering behind the sofa. Hard as nails to all neighbouring cats at all times apart from that lol

Evening all. Apparently had some rain this morning. They keep me in a dark room at work so I have no idea what the weather is doing. Not had any rain this evening yet, could do with it

I am lucky Nannysally - both my pets seem bomb proof when it comes to thunder and lightening. Not that I am going to push my luck - the cat got an extra supper and the dog got a visit to say 'be quiet' and 'go to sleep' last night at the height of the storm.

My cats aren't too bad with thunder - my mum had a sweet dog who was terrified of fireworks and thunder. She asked the vet for advice, and he suggested some of those herbal calming tablets.

Mum gave the dog the prescribed tablets that night and she was utterly comatose for about 15 hours. Mum gave her a bit of a poke at one point to make sure she was alright, and she looked like me after a night on the pop - just wanted to hug everyone then zzzzzzzzzzzz.

Mum cut the dose after that.
