Foggy Windscreen

No, it's not my new username..................have any of you guys ever used shaving cream to stop the interior glass from steaming up. It seems to be a popular method out there on internet land but wanted confirmation before I start smearing stuff on the screen that may be a pain to remove. Any other ideas would also be good. Thanks in advance.

The leading question has to be...........what are you doing to make it fog up?
And the Answer to your original question is, No, I've never used Shaving Cream - only in fun
And thirdly, why does a Raw Potato spring to mind?

Nope, but when I used to dive I had used toothpaste to the same effect. It burnt your eyes a bit, but worked

Chris will be the first to say he's not Welsh - actually, I'm the first I remember the toothpaste on your facemask thingy too, and spit worked when you had forgotten your toothpaste. However, spitting on your windscreen is to be frowned upon - Remember those signs on the buses " No Spitting Allowed" - or are you too young?

My windscreen is like that in the morning too, if I leave the car out overnight - maybe I have a Welsh leek?

Strange you should mention a raw potato VC. I once saw a tip about rubbing a cut onion on the windscreen to prevent icing up, so unbeknown to Himself I tried it one evening, thinking it would be a nice surprise for him to clear the windscreen with little effort. The next morning when we set off to work he sprayed the de-icer on the windscreen and when the wipers had got rid of the ice, the glass was opaque. He was a long time trying to get the smears off and assumed there was something wrong with the spray. That was about 4 or 5 years ago and I still haven't told him.

My cars the same,hwas thinking just recently,what can i use to clean it with,the only thing that has any efect is,have the front side windows down a wee bit,the screen appears to have a greasey film on,not looking forwards to our motorway drive on friday in the dark,DH drives,i like to know where i am,look out for land marks,like the Dunlop building on M6,

Love the onion story, Flo! RE the potato, I'm sure we used to rub one over the bathroom mirror to stop it fogging up......but the way my mind is working this morning, we may even have chopped up the raw potato and thrown them in boiling oil
