    I have a wooden drop down ladder that I prefer to the metal ones as it has wider steps, rather than rungs. I think some of the DIY stores sell them.

                      If I'm to be honest I prefer them separately, so a black coffee and a Cointreau or Strega (I have a bottle of two) or maybe a cognac..........

                          Up until last November I had a bottle of Courvoisier XO Imperial Cognac. I was drinking it exceptionally slowly. Thinking I might go back for a second sip, I left the bottle out. We had a houseful of people celebrating the BH's birthday and my cognac walked. I suspect my FinL and, although I cannot prove it, it is the sort of low down thing he would do.

                              I know, VC, I know. You wouldn't sink so low. It was a shame though, I'd had the bottle a couple of years and only drunk about two inches. Good stuff too, very mellow, very rich and smooth.
