Was sat down at lottie this morning minding my own business, enjoying the sun. I was just tying some swiss chard into bundles for friends when I heard a "Plop".....I thought what the?................looked down and saw my phone doing the breath stroke in a bucket of water......................it took me over 2 hours to dry it out. What an awful feeling, I lost all contact with the world as all my numbers were stored in the bladdy thing. Anyways, now that you have had a laugh at me, it's payback time. Has owt happened to you that was not funny at the time but is now looking back.

Yes when my children were young they played with the landline whilst I was getting dressed for work. Next thing I know I've got blue lights and coppers at my door. Theyd only managed to call 999 on a locked down handset. 9 key is the only key that doesn't lock for obvious reasons. I nearly died with shame at the time. I had visions of me being carted off for wasting police time. It's hilarious nowLook deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better...Albert Einstein

Looking at a Roman mosaic in an Italian Museum - the colours were so well defined that I wanted to look closer at it. So I stepped forward and stepped into a foot of water. My shoes, legs, everything were soaking and I realised that the water was to stop anyone getting closer So I scrambled out, dripping wet, leaving wet footprints everywhere and trying to pretend that it was quite normal to leak. Nothing was said but there were a few smirks
Actually, its hard to think of one thing that has gone to plan

A few years ago we went to Corfu for a holiday. We decided to go scuba diving. After 2 dives they dropped us off for a few hours sight seeing.
As we walked along the pontoon to the boat the pontoon collapsed.
People jumped in to save us although we can swim.
We had our bumbags on which contained our passports, driving licences and our holiday money, travellers cheques and cash.
As we cruised back to our port they dried out all our documentation and money.
They gave us our money back for the diving trip, 2 tshirts and a few other bits and pieces as way of an apology.

Oh too funny! Put a smile on my dial.
I put this sort of thing on my blog because laughing at yourself is good for the soul. But the last time I broke down with three teenagers and a horse in the horse float, and was very distressed (about 40 degrees or more) - the teens said - Just think mum, how this will look on the blog...............then they ducked and ran!Ali

Coming to a stop on my motorbike on a beautiful, pristine bit of tarmac and putting my foot down on the only perfectly round pebble for miles around. The bike ended up in its side, but fortunately not on me as I had rolled into a ditch full of nettles.
Naturally I was directly opposite a packed pub garden...
Several very nice young men came and picked me and my bike upLe Sarramea https://jgsgardening.blogspot.com/

The evening after I broke my foot (which is a story in itself), I hobbled along to the downstairs wc on my crutches. Did what I needed to do, stood up with the aid of the crutches, wobbled a bit, flushed the loo, and then realised the back of my v.long nightie had fallen in, and was currently being 'flushed'!!
I was soooo embarrassed! I cried and cried (I blame shock and painkillers ), but my lovely OH came and rescued me (after he'd stopped killing himself laughing)
I've recovered from the embarrassment now.

I went off to work and OH set the house alarm before he went off to work. We had one code - very easy to remember. However, as they do, he transposed two of the numbers. With 3 sets of very loud alarms going off I tried to phone him. In a meeting. Then tried combinations of the numbers. After 15 minutes finally got the right combination. Then the doorbell rang (this was in the days when the police took notice of alarms). Two 12 year olds in uniform - I swear they were not old enough to shave - looked at me very suspiciously (as if a burglar would open the door...). They very obviously didn't believe my story. Thought I'd be clever by writing a bit of scriptto automate a task, only to realise I missed a "where" clause off... wiping out over £1m worth of pre-authorised payments. Then only to realise that after playing with the database a week before I forgot to re-enable backups.. Then realising that my only other method of getting the data back wasn't possible.
I shortly left that job
I can't tell you what that sinking feeling in my chest felt like!
