Bean and gone

Received an envelope through the post from a very good grape friend today. It had contained some beans, but the envelope had been tampered with and the beans had gone Do I report it to the PO as someone pilfering (I wonder what they thought was in there?) or is it too trifling?

Yes,do report it, there is far too much of this going on. It is not just the value this time, but could just as easily have,

if it were me i would report it,because,if any mail or parcels are damaged in anyway shape or form,they generaly polly bag it with their appologes,

Has Beans. Sorry. Siberian/Serbian something of that ilk Zaz. BIP remembered she had offered me some bless her. We think someone must have taken them for Jack of the Beanstalk's beans and they're looking forward to the rewards.

That happened to me once. Very annoying.

Actually, mine didn't arrive. Sender sent some more, which did arrive, although the packaging was damaged. A week later the original package arrived, but was split open and empty.

I think Beans in an envelope is asking for trouble - a carton or box would seem safer. I often wonder what the postal services actually do to our goods whilst in their care.

The packaging wasn't damaged really G4, there were just two slits, one in each envelope about an inch long. Maybe there's a hungry mouse in the sorting office.

Magic beans or has not beens here I think...reaches for magnifying glass. Maybe Siberia wanted them back...you don't think they got crushed and they wanted to see what the dust was, do you? Although you think they would mark the envelope as damaged in transit?!

It could have been torn accidently (or was it opened? - my seeds from nellie turned up opened (no idea if it was customs.. but it was obvious it had been opened)) and then the beans made a bid for freedom.

bleh - sorry just read.. again could it have been caught on something sharp in a van or something?

I think Beans in an envelope is asking for trouble - a carton or box would seem safer.

I did think they'd be fine, I'd used a good strong envelope with the beans inside a second smaller one.

For them both to get split in the same place the envelopes would have had to be shaken to get them to line up.

I've got spare so will be posting out some more Flo.

I've decided to report it, would hate to think of something sentimental being messed with. Bren has sent me some more beans which arrived safely and without interference today. She had marked the packet "Pole Beans", I bet she wishes she could have drawn a tongue in a cheek!
