Had that happen with my daughter's birthday card once - when she was small - someone had slit the top of the envelope seen there was no cash inside and put it back in the post!
I know that acouple of times I have tried to disguise cards in envelopes so they are not too obviously birthday cards.... (ie put them in a larger brown envelope)

Horrible for you though FF!!
