Hmmmpf, for the first time since getting together, we are doing a Big fat Nothing.
    I am not amused.
The restaurants round here are shut on Mondays. We always go out for dinner on val day or the nearest weekend, but not been mentioned by my NEW fiance so he has clearly decided he doesn't need to bother any more

Swmbo & I don't do valentines day we been very much in love for over 40 years and we celebrate that everyday.

Tomorrow though she will get a surprise. She now suffers with arthritis in her hands so tomorrow whilst she is at work I am fitting new single lever taps to the sinks, basin etc.

Not very romantic but I like to think thoughtful.

But thoughtful in a romantic way .....I think that's a lovely thing to do. It's the little things in life that mean more than an extravagant one off gesture.

OH rang me from work and told me there was a box in the cellar for me. I've got a card, compost, new seed tray's, pot's and some seeds...Who said romance was dead .

Himself bought me a new game yesterday Ginge, I don't think it's for Valentines, I think it's to keep me quiet while he's watching sport.

I got round to making a card yesterday and gave it to OH this morning. Thankfully he just gave me a card too although to be honest I'd sooner he didn't bother. I'm totally with Mikey on this one, it's a commercial con, be rommantic when you want and remember that doesn't have to involve pink hearts and all the horrible fluffy stuff, the tap surprise further up is the nicest gestures on here by far

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I prepared my darling wife a breakfast tray of scrambled eggs, smoked bacon, toast and marmalade and coffe, and put a rose in a little vase and took it to her in bed. She said how wonderful it was, and how thoughtful. I told her that's how I wanted it the rest of the year!

                          haha!

Well it was my birthday yesterday, and OH's on friday so skint. He's at uni today and I've got my last day off work (just had 3 weeks off) but he's taking me to wagamama's tonight i too think valentines day is mostly rubbish as some people 'forget' they should show love and gratitude, and panic buy stuff tht people makes lots of money off. plus its day after my birthday so im always hungover and skint haha

i just got back from holiday and have been at my mums, now headin back to norfolk (home) and OH has assured me he has cleaned the room all nice, new bedsheets etc which is lovely as i'm allergic to dust so i will have a nice nights sleep

Bah humbugs at Christmas, bah humbugs at valentines. For those with a cup half empty syndrome doooooooo lighten up

I have two lovely days planed with Claire, we are just having lunch having echanged a couple of small non pink, fluffy or tat presents. Will light a couple of chinese lantens tonight after having a nice meal, champers and a desert and will then spent some time pampering and fussing each other.

No commercialised pressure, just a good excuse to take a bit more time to express our feelings for each other and relax.

I had a lovely delivery of roses with a load of giant heart shaped chocolate lollipops this morning from Mrs PR, in return she got breakfast in bed, with tea in a new mug with hearts on (she is a mug collector , this afternoon I will be conjuring up cheese straws in the kitchen and then dinner is an a la carte menu of salmon nicoise salad, followed by steamed bacon and onion roll, followed by lemon and elderflower pannacotta for dessert, all made from scratch by my fair hands. Considering my not great skill in the kitchen, this could be a dangerous move!
