For the boss to 'do' Christmas, but not at work, is ... well ... bad manners. A big box of sweets to share among the staff wouldn't be difficult would it?
Things people do (or don't)? well I find it tiresome that my son-in-law (much older than my daughter, and with adult children from a previous marriage) will go to vast trouble to see and visit HIS family (quite often), but doesn't seem to imagine that she would like to see us occasionally!
