    We went for a walk this evening and he has decided. Bakewell Tart.

    Yum, I made Bakewell tart for the Summer Show it was gorgeous, and way better than shop bought. He's made a wise choice.

      Aye, he's a Derbyshire boy through and through. Bless him. Hope mine lives up to expectations.

      He informed me that I'd need to use almonds in it.

      'Aye duck' I said, 'Aye'.

                  A woman who accepted that arguement would be perfect! Ah, I have dreamed a dream, but now that dream is gone from me.

                        Ollie its other half, mine usually goes out and buys what he wants as its usually something I cant afford or find. I have asked for money and or vouchers for christmas and birthday ( 5th Jan ) my clothes are as worn out as I am, fed up of looking like a tramp. lol. My OH might be getting a lottie in January but he still doesnt know so I could give him a belated present lol

                          An exhaust system for our beloved Yamaha XS1100 - he's already bought it, I just need to wrap it!

                          For me from him? Another spa day voucher for Formby Hall Golf & Spa resort near Southport. Drew got me one for my birthday, so I took my lovely mum in law a few weeks ago and had a fantastic time!

                            Nowt!

                            I asked him what he wanted, and he said 'Err, I dunno, nothing really '

                            That's easy then!

                            Actually, as he's planning to rebuild his Landy's engine over Christmas week, I reckon prezzies will be all the boring bits he's going to need. So still easy!

                              I should add, he then asked me what I wanted. My reply was;
                              'Oh, about 200 acres '

                              His response was;
                              ' '

                                What do most men do when they receive a card? They say 'Nice Card', and by the next morning it's in the bin. And when you get to a certain age you tend to have all the goods & chattels you really need

                                So a couple of years ago I suggested to the family that they should stop getting me presents and cards for Christmas, Fathers Day and so on, apart from maybe a token bottle of red wine. Instead I asked them all to pool their funds and get me a subscription to my favourite model aeroplane magazine ( who, me, a sad old man?). Now I get a present that I enjoy each month
                                And for other fathers there's always golf, fishing, cars, or even growing vegetables!
