...Bigmally having realised that their icicles had melted- and they looked like they were doing clog dancing.
Percussion ( bells) were led by SueA and Tubular Bells rang out across the village.....( it was esp difficult keeping in time to that, but the cloggies were doing their bestist helped along by Bubblewraps efforts to get those bottles empty for the Xmas tree)....

"Come on- hand a crate over here-I'll give you a hand" said Alison who was really getting into the holiday spirit- she'd already chucked a snowball at Fi ( to help her reach those high notes).....

Outside the snowballs were flying, thick and fast. Suddenly there was a roar of protest from the participants - Alison and Fi peeked round the corner to see what was going on - to see a very nervous Roland Rat, quaking in his shoes, waving Snadger's gun round in an unsteady paw.
'Oi', yelled HeyWayne to Roland 'you don't bring a gun to a snowball fight!!'
Snadger quickly retrieved the gun - only just resisting the temptation to pop old Roland right between the eyes - and Roland was ushered into the Gardeners Rest by Ginger.
To put him at his ease, Ginger sat him in a chair by the fire and said 'Tell me about...

Everyone in The Gardeners Rest was busy wrapping the last of there pressies and putting them under the tree, covered with a plastic sheet, well there is 1,562 chickens in it and Sid the goose.
Bean was trying to unwrap all the Secret Santa Parcels & couldn't understand why his Daddy was still wearing the petticoats even though the pantomime had been canceled , RedThorn was giving everyone a TERRYS chocolate orange to put in there stocking and the children were at the door listening for Santa's Sleigh Bells.
When a very unexpected visitor came calling at The Gardeners Rest...

..your a bit early shouts snadger we have still got holliday adverts on the telly..

'Ah but T*scos have already got the creme eggs on the shelves' said the bunny & I've just seen Piglet sneaking off to get 2 pallets worth to stash for Easter along with the 2 dozen chocolate oranges he's still got hidden in the cellar.
'More chocolate oranges in the cellar!' cried Red Thorn & all the Grapevine ladies, 'Let us at 'em!'
SueA (avoiding the man who kept saying 'I want you to play with my ding-a-ling!) & the rest of the bellringers dropped their bells on Snadger's foot & Nicos & Pumpkin Becki led the charge down the cellar steps where...

....Dexter was sitting sorting out the caramel eggs from the cream eggs by sampling each one.
" well.....someone's got to do it..."....

..well- it looked like all the Girlie Grapes were sitting in the cellar munching chocolate in their jimjams...the pompiers just couldn't stand by in case one of the gals exploded()
" three minutes until Xmas for us " they cried , pouting their lips ready for the chocolate onslaught.......

Underneath Piglet's huge bunch of mistletoe the pompiers, chefs & grapevine ladies (including those merely dressed as ladies..Ollie, Heywayne etc.!) disappeared in a melee of kisses. There was a huge thump & a sound like a popping cork as Santa plopped out of the pub chimney to be confronted by this sight, 'Well no presents for you lot' he said, 'you've obviously not been good!'

'Oh yes we have' shouted the assembled Grapes - 'we have saved the planet in our own little ways, we have supported, commiserated and celebrated with all our grape friends, we have offered helpful suggestions and taken on new ideas, we have all joined in the good causes- what more can you ask from such a lovely group of people on the Vine?' and with that, Santa was forced to agree that really and truly, members of the Grapevine had each and every one been good girls and boys and we all richly deserved all our presents and maybe even more - a good growing season next year!!!

'Merry Christmas to us all' came the cry as glasses of rhubarb scnapps, damson wine, marrow brandy & sloe gin were raised & chinked in a toast to their fellow 'grapeviners'! What a great bunch of grapes!
