Two years since Supersprout passed away

I know I didn't meet her, even online, but just doing a search and it came up with a relevant thread, in which her passing was reported on the 1st March 2007. Who'd a thunk it that 2 years on, she'd still be giving advice?

I arrived here just as she passed on. It was so obvious from what people said about her that she was very greatly loved and respected here. It's one of the things that made me feel that the Grapevine was a place I wanted to be.

I can remember that there was a thread about it very soon after i joined the forum and i thought this is a nice place to be where people care about their fellow forumees (or grapes as i believe we are called)

Her allotment thread in Growing Techniques is and always be, one of the most inspirational reads for any gardener. It was one of the first things to grab my eye when I first registered and I still regularly open it up and gaze at how brilliant it is.

I don't shed a tear easily but I am now!

She had a sound knowledge of gardening and was an inspiration to me and others.
She was good crack and we had some really good banter.

I still use the methods that were her trademark.

She is sadly missed.

A warm woman, very knowing and giving. The world would be a better place with more Supersprouts about.

Can't believe it's been that long. She freely dispensed great advice to all and sundry and I'm sure inspired a lot of early grapes to greater things.

Unfortunately it would seem I was not around here at the time in question, from what I have read it sounds like she was a great lady,, just wish I had had the fortune of being an aquantance..

Ah yes, I only knew her a little but she is sadly missed - I still have some of her JA's and think of her whenever I see them.

I always remember her when I get itchy fingers early in the year and sow the first pot of peas for shoots. It was her suggestion for alleviating the need to get something growing. cheers SS - you are much missed.
