Morning all, including all the night owls, or have you all finally succumbed to Hypnos' wand?

Lottie, good luck at the dentist. I've had some terrible experiences with dentists too, starting as a child with one who never gave anaesthetic when drilling and filling, to another who looked at an x-ray the wrong way round and drilled the wrong tooth. But now I have found a wonderful one and when she removed the roots of a broken tooth, which she had to do in three pieces, I had not a moment's trepidation or pain during or after treatment. It is frustrating that the only way you can find out how competent a dentist really is, is to undergo treatment, at the risk of both physical and emotional discomfort.

We currently have sunshine but I'm not sure how long for.
I was going to nip for some shopping but I can't be bothered, I shall play in the garden instead. I want to do some more planting and empty my pots that had bulbs in.

Good Morning All Fine weather for now. One tomato has arrived - just repotted it. More due by Friday. It's a bit leggy, but it's now in a deep pot so fingers crossed. Have a good day

GF, have you tried using head phones to listen to soft music, it might sooth you to sleep.
Some lavender oil on your pillow might help as well. Just a suggestion,

There was a tremendous, flashy thunderstorm with hail thrown in a little while ago. I'd been out for a walk and just made home before the rain really got going. I've had to put my trousers in the wash because I met a lady with a seemingly well mannered lab (off lead) who nevertheless jumped up and left mud all over my legs. Never a word of apology from the owner either. I felt like dipping my hands onto the muddy footpath and wiping them down her trousers, see how she liked it.

GF…I finally turned on the light and read until the book bashed me in my face!….5.10 am
Hence oversleeping.
Woken to rain and wind. Thank goodness it wasn’t like this yesterday for the music festival!

We’ve just heard that our new washing machine will be arriving on Saturday afternoon…Yey!
It’s 1kg capacity bigger than the last one . Not much but it’ll help when it comes to the gites.

Just got to empty the water out of the old one….then clean out behind it..please tell me no one pulls theirs out to clean behind them on a regular basis?

Thats really annoying MH…I’d be cross if that happened to me.

mothhawk, you made me smile. I can just imagine the woman's face if she had got her just desserts.

I did eventually get a few hours sleep this morning.

bramble, I have tried with varying sorts of headphones/earbuds in bed in the past but I always found them uncomfortable. Soft music sounds good unless, of course, it comes with memories. I've just remembered that in the distant past we used to get talking books out of the library and listen to them in bed. I remember listening to Jamaica Inn and also some short stories. A couple of years ago I used to listen to old radio stories on BBC sounds. The trouble was I ran out of anything I fancied listening to (thrillers and mysteries) and they kept regurgitating the same programmes ad infinitum ..... a bit like the TV channels. I think I'll have a browse for something similar that might lull me to sleep. Thank you for putting the idea in my head.

Thanks for all your kind wishes, everyone. Once again, the blood test results confirm I'm still here. So that's good news!

Not much in the way of other news. Took Jack on a longer walk today. Nice and cloudy, so even quite cool. And lovely views from this particular route, so I'll do it again, perhaps even a bit longer.

Hope you get a decent night's sleep tonight, GF. Water pistol for your next walk, MH? Filled with muddy slurry for squirting at the dog? At least that way you won't end up with dirty hands.

Right, I absolutely have to have a nap. Catch you all later. Have a great rest of the day, everyone.

Oh, and as for the smiles, Nicos, I have no work at all at the momentm so I am full of pre-retirement glee. Maybe they caught some.

Must be the day for unruly pooches. OH bumped into an old friend whilst taking a walk earlier today. His friend had 2 working sheepdogs with him & warned him clearly not to get to close to the 1 as he has a tendency to nip. What did OH do? Forgot & stepped in close to share his new mobile number & got swiftly nipped on the leg! Not to badly but it broke the skin

Good afternoon all,thank youall for the the lean to be put to sleep,i feel a wooz,was talking to a friend this lunch time,her husband had the same experience as me,,and he is defo no wooz,i think you have to go to a hospital facility for that,will find out tomorrow,as it is only an exam,we are new patients,good news about the blood tests,snoop,
I had a nice supprise in the green house this morning,some cues and beans have just broken the surface,also came accross a saved dahlia from last year,when i looked the other week they all looked gonners,but 1 had started,so I quickly potted it up,i am hoping things just take off,and the seasons are slow starters,the few potatoes are coming on great,starting to get flowers,they were only a few from the supermarket that sprouted,so i recycled them into the soil ,i am tempted to sow some carrotts and beet roots,it is a good feeling when things go as they should and you hope for,the weather is weird today,got the pump working on the new battery,now i gotta soort out the wire on the crocodile clips,will be getter to see if i can get som new ones,they are years old and the plastic covers are breaking up,and i a wary off connecting them up with the insulation,i also want a gadget on the battery to say what juice i am using,no 2 son is sorting this for me,
