  • Afternoon all.

CGosh, you've been busy, GF. Well done. And good idea about the wallpaper. Can you send a bit of your mojo my way? My get up and go seems to have got up and gone. I've done nothing but read a book this morning. We've had 3 hailstorms in between rain showers and now a glimpse of sun is trying to persuade me that it's warm. Well, it's not, it is cold and I seem to have clicked over into hibernation mode. Time for an afternoon brew to warm me up, I think.

    Endless wonder.

    • mothhawk, The weather here is weird too. It is, supposedly 10°C but we have had several hailstorms and when I was driving earlier it seemed to be trying to sleet. It might even be curl up in the recliner with the heated throw and a good book time next.

... and a mug of bovril.

      • Afternoon, a mix of rain, hailstones along with thunder/ lightning. Glad I popped a cloche over my lettuce or it would have been ripped to pieces.

        • I thought that the weather had settled down to general grey drabness. All of a sudden, it started thundering and then the hailstones started again. They came down with such force that they were bouncing a couple of feet into the air. I keep thinking it's abating, but then it starts all over again.

May seems to be the month though for hail, it's like the final emptying of the rubbish (hopefully)

Sunny start here though we did have a frost. Showers due later.

            • Morning all.

Bright but cold this morning. We dismantled the pellet heater chimney to paint the walls but reassembling it is going to be a priority I reckon. One weather forecaster has our low tonight as 0 ºC. Very cold for mid-May here.

I really do need to settle down to work properly today. So looking forward to getting it done and dusted.

              Have a great day, everyone.

The gardens had a good soaking with yesterdays rain/hail plus my water butts are full. Todays plan is to weed the parsnip and strawberry beds then potting on cucumbers and toms.

                Enjoy your day.

                  • Good morning.

I knew that I shouldn't have started reading that new book yesterday. It was an early Lee Child that somehow I'd missed. I could not put it down! I've now finished it. My sister, who has the same taste in books as I do, doesn't think she's read it either. I'll be seeing her on Saturday so she can have it next.

Hopefully my new bed and mattress will arrive this morning.🤞

I eventually chose a wooden frame, in white.

Edited to add: Harished is a new word for me, CG. Looked it up and came across this: https://www.collinsdictionary.com/di.../harish But not sure if it might be a Vine special to go with grory hop.

                      • Morning, it’s a greyish 10° with a cool wind. Is it just me but I feel it’s never been as windy as it is now.

                          • Afternoon n’alln’all

Finally back home and resting up! ( OH on the other hand is sorting out our tax returns!)
TBH…it’s great to be back in my own bed. It’s been a fantastic month and we clocked up 1,500 miles!
Cuddles with both granddaughters were amazing - and the great news is they are all coming over for 10 days in July.

And nope- my back isn’t sorted yet Back on bedrest but I’m making the most by taking the time to plan the pottagers!
Never read so much in my life …we picked up 6 Wallander books from a phone booth library/ honesty box in Bute and I’ve been cracking on with those. Never tasted such wonderful, creamy tablet either…wish we’d bought more!

It looks like we’ve had loads of rain whilst we were away, and boy has everything greened up!

Birthday wishes to those of you I missed…bramble?

                              • The bed was delivered at about 11am. There was a mattress and 4 boxes for the bed frame. A headboard in one, a footboard in another, side rails in another and finally a base.

The guy in the shop said it was easy to assemble, and it was. It is now made up and looking very, very tempting. I was going to take all the plastic and cardboard to the tip, but then realised that it will be very useful when I decorate. It is pushed under the bed for now.

It's good to hear that you enjoyed your trip, Nicos . Look after your back. Did you fill the camper with reading material to take home? And teabags? What other delights?
