  • Good morning all.

Last night, I discovered the joys of Mr GF's faux fur electric throw. I was snuggled into my rocker/recliner and felt a little chilly. I took his throw from behind the settee. I had bought it for him for a present the year before last. I draped it over myself and put it on the lowest setting for an hour. Mmmmm! I actually dozed off for half an hour.

rary, for heavens sake take some painkillers! I'm sure that you said that the doctor gave you some. If you don't you'll inadvertantly stop doing things because of the pain, and then one day, you'll find that you can't do them anymore.

I nearly went to the doctor's earlier this week. Whenever I was writing things on my phone (like this) although I thought that I hitting the right letters I was getting gobbledegook on the screen, and I don't just mean odd words. It was as if either my fingers weren't doing what I wanted them to or maybe my brain just wasn't telling my fingers.

It was annoying and a bit scary. I'm glad that I didn't go and either be subjected to unnecessary tests or look an idiot if the doctor has more common sense than me. Have you guessed my problem? My nails had grown too long!!

No sign of the electricity workmen yet today. We do still have a massive hole though which I presume they will at least come back and fill at some point.

Containergardener, I agree about the permits for cars. Councils should encourage and facilitate recycling to help stop flytipping. Good luck with the CT scan.

While searching for our old permit I found some photos that my sister had sent me last year. They were all over 20 years old, some much older. I photographed some of the photos with my phone. I am so glad that I did. Now whenever I start to get upset and start to imagine Mr GF as he was at the end of his life, I look at the new photos on my phone. Mr GF as he was about 25 years ago, a big bear, with a big smile. Much nicer memories.

The breeze is still a frigid north easterly but at least it is more like a breeze than a gale today.

    • Good morning all. Bright but with a very cold breeze.
Nothing planned for the day so I will be in the garden.

GF, it's allabout whatever gives you comfort as you are grieving at the moment.

CG, best of luck with your scan today.

      Rary, Hope you're feeling better.

      Have a good day all.

      • Good morning, sunny with a cold wind blowing, I did get to sleep last night, not so sure about OH every time I moved I was being asked if I was ok, eventually fell into a deep sleep but was awake at the back of six fortunately just a wee niggle in my back, need to go and get ready to take OH to hospital for an echo sound, but had to ask daughter if she could come with us as it here is no way I would be able push OH in a chair, fortunately she has managed to get some time off, so thankful for that. Have a good day and enjoy the dry weather, so good to look out the window and not see rain, now pass on your smiles and help make other happy
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

        • Good Afternoon All Sunny here again but the wind is still biting cold. I've done some weeding in the tubs of tulips, but ran out of energy. Have a good rest of the day

          • Good evening all, what a blustery day.
Washed so many items while it was breezy, three jackets and a very heavy bed set
Potted on some squash, tomato and dahlia plants.
Did some weeding and deadheading the daffs, busy but enjoyable.
Hope you all had a good day.

            • Evening n’alln’all
Last evening staying with our son and family.
I can happily say their freezer is brimming over with various casseroles and cooked meats and OH has managed to do a lot of building work.
My planned gardening didn’t happen- too many baby huggles!…wish my two had been as calm and smiley as this little’un!
We’ll be back for a few more days in a couple of weeks, so hopefully it’
              l stay dry for then.
We’re now set for a few days wild camping ….hindered muchly by me putting out my back and on elbow crutches. Ah well
Good timing for a well earned rest tbh
And guess what Rary?….I’m taking painkillers and using a TENS machine…both of which are helping No point in struggling eh?…no bravery awards

Early start as we are heading off , so just wanted to say hi to you all whilst I have an internet connection.
Remember to share those lovely smiles , and importantly ….remember to treat yourselves to nice things( even if it’s sitting in the sunshine having a brew when you are rushed off your feet!) …we all deserve a good treat from time to time!

                • Evening all.

I've just had a text from one of my nieces inviting me for around to see her house on Sunday ..... and eat cake!

Nicos, it's good to hear from you, not so good to hear that you have "been in the wars" as my grandma would have said.

                  Sleep well, everyone.😴😴

                    Morning all
Thought my sciatica was going well, unfortunately I ended up with a trapped nerve from my back to my foot all night, not sure if the scan set me off again. Even got up and lay on the bedroom floor. Hoping it eases when walking shortly as I need to nip to mums with a few bits and her prescription.

                    • Oh my goodness, guys. What a pickle some of us are in. Hope you start to feel some relief soon, Nicos. I've never heard of TENS before. I shall have to look into that, see if a machine might benefit Mr Snoop. Thanks for mentioning it, though sorry you need it. Hope your sciatica improves too, CG.

Today should turn into a decent day eventually, but work comes before play. It's a public holiday in Aragon today. St George is the region's patron saint and we celebrate with the exchange of books and flowers. We're off to a music event in our local bookshop and I'm sure a rose or two will be purchased at some point. Then back to water the neighbours' plants (I didn't make it yesterday) and after that a well-deserved nap.

Tell you what, I wouldn't mind an invitation like that, GF. Ages since I last had a decent cake.

                      Have a great day, everyone.

                      • I wasnt expecting the frost , nice walk though
It will ease snoop, had it on and off for years. I've tried a tens machine too, was before I was diagnosed autoimmune though. Don't actually know where it is now.
Maybe it would help Mr Snoop.
Yes I forgot its St George's day today. Enjoy your day and nap.
Think I will call in the local butcher on the way today, something for the bbq over the weekend.

                        • Morning all.

Any tea left in the pot CG? Then I'd better clean my teeth again as I'm off to the dentist in a bit for the bi-annual check up. Fingers crossed nothing's amiss. Then the grass needs cutting, it does put on a spurt at the sniff of a warm day.

Hope your back improves quickly, Nicos, a bad back is so incapacitating. Have a good day all.

                            • Good morning all.

I'm sorry to hear about everybody's aches and pains. I have tens machine in a drawer somewhere. I know when I had nerve pain in my hands that it didn't work for me, but I put it away (another safe place) thinking that one day it might work for something else.

Something seems to be happening with the hole at the entrance to the cul de sac. We have had two wagons and men with a wheelbarrow. I can't see exactly what they are doing however. It did cross my mind that the ratio of men (3 or 4) to wheelbarrow (1) was a little odd.

I think today I'm going to sort out some unused electrical "stuff" which we have obviously bought by mistake over time (such as a piemaker?) and take it to the local hospice shop later. Why did I ever think that I needed a piemaker?
