    • Morning
It's another dreary grey start for us, promising sun this afternoon.
I need to nip out this morning. This afternoon I may achieve something outside or gh related.

      Grab yourselves a drink.

      • Morning all.

I don't know what kind of jab it was, CG. Mr Snoop never asks these things and I wasn't allowed in. I'm coming down with a cold this morning, so with any luck it's just that that's causing him problems too and he'll get better. We're both pretty sure he's got a postviral condition because whenever he comes down with something, his disability symptoms worsen considerably. Fingers crossed it's just that and in a few days he'll be feeling a lot better.

Well done you and your partner for sorting things for your mum, CG. Me, I'm in Mr Snoop's good books because I came up with a wheeze for doing more of the grouting using a Wilton cake decorating bag and nozzle. Works a treat and is quite neat. Now I've just got to finish it...

Had a lovely extended walk with Jack this morning, so now time to settle down to some work.

        Have a great day, everyone.

Not a good end to your day CG hope the wine didn't stain.

Edited to say waving at Snoop, good tip about grouting.

            • Good morning all, it's a nice bright morning.
I don't need to be anywhere today so going to be in the garden.

Snoop, great idea using an icing bag for grouting, I must keep that in mind.
Hope Mr Snoops health keeps improving.

CG, I can only imagine the mess a whole bottle of red wine would cause, not a good end to your day.

Hubby and I have been offered the spring covid, we are on two minds whether to have it, anybody else with an opinion?

              Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.

              • Bramble, I would say have it.

We missed a round of jabs due to lack of notification and when we asked it was too late. I'm pretty sure that what Mr Snoop has is a postviral autoimmune problem and most likely Covid. He went off to Madrid for a few days, public transport, music concerts, art galleries, so lots of contact with other people. Came back and started to feel rough. Typical Covid symptoms but he didn't bother to do a Covid test. A few days after that he developed his problem overnight. Walking, driving, all the usual things one day, then the next he was unable to stand, unable to use his arms and hands and in dreadful pain. He has improved, but is still nothing like his old self. I can't say for sure it was Covid because he didn't do a test, but it seems to me the most likely thing.

Developing long-term problems is extremely unlikely, but it's not worth taking the risk.

                  • Afternoon, dull, showery and chilly what can I say!
Oh CG my kitchen tiles have loads of cracks from dropping things. Keep saying we will get the kitchen retiled but quite honestly can’t be bothered with the hassle!
As for the Covid jab bramble, I would definitely get it. I’m getting mine on Sunday.
In 2022 we both got Covid but my OH didn’t really get over it. Eventually ended up in hospital for 9 weeks with sepsis and had a mechanical heart valve fitted due to what they think was Covid attacking his natural one. I also missed a booster, caught Covid and ended up in hospital with what they said was a post Covid infection…that resulted in a 10 day stay. So me personally would say definitely get it.
Anyhoo, on that cheery note I hope everyone has a lovely afternoon. x

                    • Thanks Snoop and Jay...it's what I needed to hear..My thinking was looking at it from a different perspective...like the amount of chemicals being injected into my system and the fact covid doesn't seem to be around much. 😘

Terrible, Jay. Hope you've both made a decent recovery from those situations. xx

Edited to add: Perhaps it isn't around as much, bramble, because people are keeping their jabs up. A bit like measles in the States. If enough people don't get jabbed, it might make a come-back.

                        • Amazingly we have Snoop but ultra careful with everything, especially we have two little germ monsters around us sometimes😂 Lots of hand sanitizer and wipes at hand all the time. Who knows if it helps but you have to try.

                          • Better to have the jab & not need it than not have it & wish you did I reckon

They do say washing your hands is one of the most effective ways to prevent spreading lots of different germs etc. Jay so definitely worth it - especially when in contact with little ones who do seem to be a leaky, oozing, sticky bunch for all of their otherwise loveliness

Gutted for your wine & floor CG. OH dropped a can of Guinness out of the fridge recently & almost redecorated the kitchen with the spray - all over the fridge (inside & out), freezer, floor but also made it up the wall & all over the radiator. We kept finding bits everywhere - I think it's those widget thingies in the cans that gave it super powers lol.

We've had the same weather today - mostly grey & drizzly, not very warm. I'm hoping for a dry day tomorrow so OH can start digging the spud trenches on Sunday.

Edit to add: noticed you sneaking up ladders again rary - do be careful young man!

                            • I would definitely have a covid booster if it is offered, Bramble. Sadly, (or should I say happily), I'm not old enough yet for the Spring one, but there is still plenty of covid around in the UK and people are still dying from it, though the numbers are dropping as they always do as we approach better weather. Here's some gov stats:

                              Endless wonder.

                              • Good evening all and thanks for your advice. Made the appointment and having the jab on Thursday afternoon.
Spent a good bit of the afternoon in the garden and then on the phone to my sister in London.

Look after that wine and guinness...too precious to be throwing it on the floor..
                                Have a good evening all.
