  • Good morning.

So sorry to hear your sad news, GF, but as you say, not totally unexpected, and thanks to your diligence his other family members were able to see him. I do hope they will be taking over responsibility for future steps now and relieving you of the burden of care you have so willingly shouldered all this time.

    • It's rainy and mild here but predicted to stop soon till late afternoon. Actually it is beginning to brighten up as I type. According to the farmers guide the soil temperature is up to 10C but will drop back to 8C over the weekend. Much warmer east and south, due east of me everywhere the soil is predicted to be 11C. Soon be warm enough to sow outdoors.

            • Very sad news about your BiL passing, but be assured you did everything you could for him.
It's time now to take care of yourself after all you have been through.
Let his nephew take the burden now.

              • Good morning all, it's a nice bright dry morning.
Meeting up with my two sister in laws today for lunch.
Hopefully a bit of retail therapy afterwards as we are meeting in the city centre.
                Have a good day all.

                • Good Morning All Sorry to hear that GF, but glad that you weren't there - you've been through enough. I was here earlier, but was interrupted by the Grory Hop delivery. Funny how the supermarket steer you towards their choice of product!
Sun is out but a very cold wind. Have a good day

                    • Thank you for all your kind wishes.

His nephew has been in touch a couple of times this morning to ask me for information for the hospital bereavement service. He also asked if I knew what his preference for a funeral was. I did, and he is going to use the funeral director that sorted out Mr GF's funeral. At some point in the next few days I'll meet up with him and give my brother in law's flat keys and bank card that I was looking after for him while he was in hospital.

                      • Sorry about the news GF, but this is an opportunity for you to have some "me" time, as I'm quite sure this has been a stressful few months.

Good afternoon, haven't been posting much recently but have been looking in quite regularly, looking at some of the posts from yesterday evidently the tv programmes mentioned must have been way before my time
OH is doing well a nurse came in on Friday to take some blood samples, unfortunately she couldn't get a sample, I told the nurse that its even more difficult to get some money from her, however a different nurse appeared on Monday and managed to get some blood, so I thought I would try getting some money no chance we then had a coup!e of nurses in yesterday to give her a covid jag, I asked if they could give me one as well unfortunately they didnt have any spare but said if someone turned theirs down they would come back, when I said dont go to any bother I was told any that they returned with got disposed, low and behold they returned a short time later and gave me a jag, someone had turned the jag down, felt fine yesterday but today, a wee bit washed out, so even though the sun is shining I haven't been out to the garden, which ofcourse pleases OH as I have been told to take things easy for a time as I had a cataract op on Saturday and she caught me up a ladder yesterday morning, it was a bit of a mistake as I thought she was sleeping. Now off to prepare the tea for tonight, so I wish you all a pleasant evening and hope you pass on your smiles
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                        • It’s a lovely sunny afternoon here, I’ve been in the garden but just now I’m sat in the caravan for afternoon tea and flapjack.

                          • Oh, Rary... You're incorrigible. Anyway, glad your OH is doing well. Hope the cataract op is a success.

Really sorry to hear about your BiL, GF. You looked after him so well over the years.

Not much news here. Went out this morning with Mr Snoop to buy paint to decorate some walls. We managed not to argue over the colour... Sadly his joint injections in his shoulders seem to have lost their efficacy. Only a few weeks since he had them, so that's a great shame for him.

Afternoon tea in the caravan sounds nice, Bren. I'm just having a cup of tea now, with half an apple slice. This might actually do for supper as M up the valley cooked lunch while we were out. A curry feast, so all I've done this afternoon is lie down and inspect the ceiling (too full to inspect my eyelids).

                            Have a great evening, everyone.

                            • Bit of a day dealing with mum then a leak, then needed OH to come after work to hers, I went for the parts. We both came home late and then I dropped a bottle of red wine on the tiled kitchen floor
