Mornin n’alln’all
wild wet and windy here…been raining most of the night but it looks like it might be heading off in your direction now Bren.
With the wind howling and gusting through the trees it sounds like being parked up in the camper right next to a rocky beach!
Its actually just started hail stoning as I speak!
!
I did get back to sleep thanks GF, but it took a heck of a while, so I’m feeling somewhat sleep deficient at the moment
A brew would be really lovely please CG- if there is any left? Ta muchly!
Flo…enjoy your day with Frank…you’ve not mentioned Lord Ginger for a while…isn’t he needing your company so much now the warmer weather arrived? ( mind you…I imagine it’s started to change in the last couple of days?)
I’m in a bit of a baking mood today…thinking of Dorset apple cake and a gooseberry and apple crumble.
But first of all…breakfast!
Overnight oats with chopped apple and blueberries…help yourself if you’ve not already eaten.
Enjoy your day peeps…and remember to share those lovely smiles of yours x

I was just thinking….the sun keeps trying to pop out, despite the wind and cloud and rain….. I should check if there is a rainbow next time it rains!
Who doesn’t just love seeing a rainbow!

Morning all.
Another bright blue but perishing cold morning today. Weather warnings here are for Arctic cold over the next few days, so I imagine it's going to be extremely chilly where you all are. Wrap up warm, everyone. Looks like you might see the smiles in their bobble hats again, Nicos.
Stuck indoors this morning with work, but an outing to the village this afternoon for a few errands looks likely.
Have a great day, everyone.
Edited: Missed you there, Andraste. Lots of snow? Like snowman amount of snow? I reckon the smiles will be dropping in to see you today.Last edited by Snoop Puss; 25-03-2026, 09:12 AM.

Morning all.
Did a grory hop earlier and it was perishing cold, windy and rainy after the warm week we've had. The sun is trying to tempt me outside now but the forecast says more rain in half an hour so I'm ignoring it. Is this March, having come in like a lamb, going out like a lion?
Rainbows, Nicos? The sun has to be within 45 degrees of the horizon, which is why you only see them early mornings and evenings, no good looking out at midday.
I've been looking up hot cross bun recipes. Anyone make their own? I was tempted by the supermarket ones, but put off by the list of ingredients. I seem to be getting really picky about what is in shop bought food now, more than five or six ingredients and I put it back on the shelf.Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
Endless wonder.

I had no idea about the 45° MH….thanks for that!
I had noticed that they do seem to appear front right of the house or back left , so that would tie in with the morning or evening angles!
I’m very selective too with ingredients. Occasionally blitzes with ultra processed foods but even those I need to stop now due to health reasons.
OH has already offered to make some hotXbuns as I get reflux with bought ones….but also, the main reason being that you just can’t buy them here.
Crikey Andraste…. Snow?…wow.
Still hailstoning on and off here between sunny spells.
It feels like we’ve had April showers on and off all winter…I wonder what April will bring?
Right…wiggle time… I have baking to be done
Anyone want the cake whisk lollipops? I used to think that was the best bit of helping my mom to make cakes

Good day all. Sunshine here and it's 18 degs.
Just back from the local market where I picked up,a few bargains.
Have a good day all.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Very much like Bren's conditions here it seems. Still intermittent snow (decent size flakes too) then sun but with the ground too wet to come to anything really.Originally posted by Snoop Puss View PostMissed you there, Andraste. Lots of snow? I'll bet the plotter who was planting his broadies out when we were on the site at the weekend isn't happy - I hope they were acclimatised & he's popped over to put some fleece or something on them
I'm definitely pleased I didn't give in with potting on my Toms & putting them in the blow-away as I'd been tempted to risk it.

I've wondered a couple of times if this year's going to be a repeat of 2023 weather-wise - that year the plot was still really wet through March (although it seems not so bad as that this year) & then we had snow in mid-April followed by a very dry/hot May and June. It put a real spanner in the works for early sow stuff especially, what with our spuds failing (we've learnt from that though), bolting spinach & rocket, not very good broadies. It was a great year for brassicas though if I remember rightlyOriginally posted by Nicos View PostCrikey Andraste…. Snow?…wow.

Bright sunshine here now, but it's very windy. Lord Ginger still visits most days Nicos. He's appeared
briefly today, but made a hasty retreat when he saw Frank! He'll be back later when he's sure the coast is clear.Last edited by Florence Fennel; 25-03-2026, 02:19 PM.Granny on the Game in Sheffield
