  • Morning all.

Belated Birthday greetings Nicos. My internet was so slow yesterday I gave up trying.

The wind has calmed down a bit this morning but it was certainly a wild night with heavy rain too. A good test for my new 8ft fence that was put up yesterday. I've peeked out, and it's still standing. Phew!

Tea and crumpets, a perfect breakfast, CG, can I have marmite on mine please?
    Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
    Endless wonder.

    • Morning all.

Fences and windsocks surviving the conditions... excellent news.

Blue skies here and the solar panels are already basking in the sunshine. The days are definitely getting longer. And the weeds are getting taller... Got a list of jobs that fills a whole page in my notebook, but I must get around to sowing my toms soon

Huge amount of work to get through today, but it's a biology-related exhibition for kids, so very enjoyable for a change. And I've done most of the research already, so I think it'll feel like a productive day.

I'll grab a cup of tea before I leave, CG. Pass on the crumpets, though they look and smell delicious. Got to get a grip of myself sooner or later...

      Have a great day, everyone.

              • I like lemon curd or jam on crumpets - never tried a savoury topping other than just butter - I must lead a sheltered life

We've had a mixed lot of weather today: started with some lovely sun but a bit breezy, turned a little overcast at around 12, then light showers, rain, sleet, a bit of snow just now & now we're back to the sun breaking through.

                            • Good evening, a cold day with a mix of heavy showers and a little sunshine, but always the biting cold wind, havent done very much today, though did manage out to the greenhouse where I got the fire going, did a wee bit of tidying up then after lunch time received a delivery of some fuchsia, a variety called chilli red, I had seen it several times in a GC but had a high price tag on it and tho it did take my fancy I just wasnt willing to spend the money on it, ( I always try to avoid anything over 50p ) anyway I now have three plug- plants so will see how the do. OH is improving all the time but still hasnt been out, we were going to try visiting our friend but unfortunately she isnt feeling that we!l just now, I was hopping I could have dropped OH off and I could then have headed to some different shops to buy OH something nice for our diamond anniversary which is next week, unfortunately it didnt happen, I also thought I would get her a nice card, but it looks like I will have to use one I bought for her several years ago, just need to clean the dust off it and change the number with marker pen, actually I just remembered I have some paint pens which I can use, Bren recommended these pens two or three years ago for writing plant labels, that should do fine anyway when she has me what else does she need, (please use royal mail to post your answers to me before Thursday)

I hope you all have relaxing evening, and those who are feeling a bit down, know that others care about you and though we have never met I wish you lots of love
