  • Thank you bramble, not sure OH would agree with you, though she may well think I am a diamond but still needs to be cut, actually we were larking about one day, well I was, I have a health problem, and we found out about it when OH held a knife at my throat, of course with that you will realise why I do everything I am told
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

    • Good morning.

Brrrr!!! It feels cold. Sleep is eluding me. I visited my brother in law yesterday afternoon and got attacked by the automatic doors in his lobby. He seems to have become a lot frailer since I saw him last. I then called into the mini-Sainsburys in search of food. I bought a ready meal, a fish pie, as I couldn't be bothered to cook. I won't buy that again, it was not very nice. When I went to pay the machine asked for my pin number. Could I remember it? No? Brain turned to mush🤯😵‍💫. I haven't actually physically visited a shop for months so not needed my pin online. I did eventually remember that I had once written it on a scrap of paper and included the paper in a photo on my phone. Eureka! I found it in among hundreds if photos.

I've braved the kitchen and made coffee now. Help yourselves. The car roofs are all frozen solid🥶 I haven't heard any pre-dawn chorus.

      See you later.

Rary what a great milestone, I'm sure OH will appreciate anything you do.

Gf I had to laugh at the pin problem, been there many times
I will grab a cup of tea if I may, its frosty white here too and the sun is shining.
The birds started singing at 5.40 this morning
Lot's I'd like to achieve today although OH mentioned pruning a tree which will involve me.....so we shall see.
However he hasn't hasn't even got up yet.

        • Good morning GF and good morning all.

GF, it must feel as if you are coming out of lockdown for the second time, an odd freedom to be away from the house.

It's frosty here too but the wind has gone, there's not a breath stirring.

          • Morning

It was frosty here earlier but only a few bits left were the suns not touched. GF you're not alone we all have the pin number remembering problem at times. Some numbers seem easier to remember than others.

            enjoy your day

            • Morning all.

Goodness but I fancy crumpets now. I'm with Flo, pizza crumpets (though that covers a huge range of possibilities). Other than that, butter and a bit of honey. Great way to use up honey that has set as the warmth melts it. I have a large jar of that, but no crumpets. Definitely need to remedy that at some point this week.

Hmm. Just looked at the weather forecast. Wish I hadn't... I'll just ignore it.

Congratulations on your anniversary to come, Rary. Couldn't you just say you're nipping out to collect seaweed?

Sorry to hear about your BiL, GF. He'll be hit hard by your loss too. Sending you more hugs. I'm not even going to discuss PINs. I'm convinced some machines just don't like my card.

Right, the man with the JCB has just been in touch. He's coming round to have a look at the big terrace that needs clearing of dead almonds and pines that have taken over so that I can replant it with olive trees. Should have done it years ago really. But it's now or never. So it had better be now.

Joining Rary in sending love and hugs.

                • Good day all. A mix of sunshine and cloud with a real blustery breeze but its 18 degs.
We have been out for a walk earlier but will be staying in to watch the rugby this afternoon.

GF, sorry to hear your going through a tough time right now, it's such a shock.

Flo, enjoy your afternoon with your GGs, precipus times.

I have to say, honey is one of the things I dislike, it's just too sweet for my taste.

                  Have a good day all.

                  • I have just spent ages looking for our marriage certificate. It had to be in one of 3 places. It wasn't where it belonged, with our birth certificates etc, but I did eventually find it. I've got an appointment at the registrars office on Monday morning. We were together for 35 years but I never realised that we got married way back in 2002. I do know that when I told my mother, with less than two weeks notice, her comment was. "You're not, are you?" I was all for eloping and telling nobody, but Mr GF eventually talked me into inviting my remaining parent and our siblings and their partners. We had been engaged for several years but one day we were out shopping and he suddenly said he'd seen a great looking cruise on offer in the travel agents window leaving the next month. Did I fancy it as a honeymoon. We booked the cruise first and then sauntered up to the registry office.

The sun is shining now and the sky is blue.

                      • Flo, glad it's not just me. I do admit that on paper we should never have worked, but we both knew better. When I first met him, in my early thirties, I thought I'd done everything that I wanted to do. I'd always been a believer of do everything you really want to do before you're thirty (too much Logans run).

Then the best half of my life began......

                            • Good morning all and Happy Mothering Sunday to all who are blessed with children, hope you all have a lovely day.

The weather is doing nothing special, a bit of cloud, a bit of breeze, bit of a nondescript day. Kettle's on for any early birds, I was going to have porridge for breakfast, but I've remembered I bought mushrooms with the grory hop on a whim, so I may have mushroom omelette instead.
