  • ^^^ indeed…light at the end of the tunnel…it’ll soon be time for the annual knobbly knee competition
No doubt we’ll have more snow / wind/ sleet/ rain/ flooding before that…but yes…nothing like the feel of the sun on your face or back whilst gardening!

      • Morning Nicos, is the kettle still hot or have you nodded off now?

Nicos have they been over there a long time?

Hope your bil gets there ok tomorrow gf and the pain patches work.

It's windy again here. We may get a dry day but the rest of the week is showing rain again. Certainly not 19degrees and sun
Other than domestics of washing and changing our bed I shall try and get outside. I'd like to prune the rampant honeysuckle a bit and some tidying up.
I'd also like to start some seeds.

        • Mornin n’alln’all
I’ve officially given up on sleep

CG…I didn't get up..so no hot water I’m afraid, but if you have any going spare?….

Our friends moved over here in about 2005- a couple of years before us. She used to run the Book Club here which was great. They’re a few years older than us so must have taken early retirement .

I heard the dawn chorus start at 7.11 am (6.11 uk time), so it’s getting earlier!
My magnolia is also showing some pink bursting out of the buds …a sure sign Spring is establishing itself.

You’ve got me thinking, maybe I should be pottering in the sunshine on the patio tomorrow rather than in the shade at the front,…ooo…decisions decisions!

Hope everyone has a great day, and remember to share those lovely smiles

          • Yes plenty water here.. help yourself.
I had the wrens and song thrush competing yesterday for the most vocal bird on our walk. So nice to hear, a bit of sun wouldn't go amiss though. Grey grey grey here. I'm sick of grey.
Right, off to walk this dog before breakfast of porridge, stewed apple, yoghurt and seeds/granola on our return.

            • Good morning.

It's grey here again, but we may, supposedly, get some sunny intervals later. I hope that we do. The world seems so much better in the sunshine. Nicos, at this time of the year I'd potter in the sunshine on the patio.

I didn't get a good night's sleep, but better than yours, Nicos. I awoke at 2.30am convinced that it was morning and didn't fall back asleep for hours.

I've already slid out of bed, turned the thermostat up and make coffee.

I've got a grory hop due between 11am and noon.

              Back later.

A dry sunny-ish day here hopefully I'll get in the garden at some point.

                  • Afternoon all.

Been trying to get some work done, but constant interruptions, so haven't got very far. But nice interruptions from friends dropping in, so all good. People really have to make an effort to come and see us, so it always feels very special. Friends from further afield coming at the weekend. Sadly the weather will be back to damp and dreary. Been a lovely day so far today, though still cold enough at night for very hard frosts.

Excellent news about your OH; rary. What's the situation with your other carpal tunnel op? Are you also in less pain now?

Right, better get back to the work. Have a great rest of the day, everyone.

                    • Good afternoon all, dull here but its dry and 13 degs.
Another bit of cleaning and tidying in the garden and greenhouse while it's dry.
We have three finches in the garden today and they are going backwards and forward like busy bees.
Hope all who are feeling under the weather sees an improvement in their health.
It's been such a long, grey wet winter but the weather has to improve soon!
                      Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

I've been wrestling rampant Ivy on a trellis, brambles and roses. It's grey and very windy, I've got my washing out but with MANY pegs in it.

                        • There's some spring sunshine here which is lovely, even though it shows every streak on the windows! My tulips are at last appearing, so after reading your post CG I celebrated with a kitkat followed by a penguin

                          • Good afternoon.

The local pharmacy has delivered Mr GF's pain patches. I have already stuck one on him. Evidently the first one doesn't have it's maximum effect until it's been is situ for 3 days, and needs replacing woth a new one every 7 days. I just hope it works.

Two staff from the surgery, not sure of their official titles, have also visited Mr GF this morning.

The wind has now dropped completely here and I cannot see any clouds at all. I'm not sure how the kitkat/Penguin celebrations work ...... but 3 chocolate orange bars sneaked into my online shopping. I have a feeling that they will want to join in.😇😇. They just hate missing out.

                            Nothing to do with me.😇😇😇😇🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

                            There's only a breeze here but it's a decidedly chilly breeze🥶🥶. It's 13°C, but doesn't feel anything like it.

I've just rewrapped a parcel that I received as the item is unsuitable. It was delivered by Evri. I looked at how to return it, expecting to find a complicated process as I need it to be collected. It seems to be very straightforward. I've printed a return label and booked it for collection tomorrow. As long as the driver actually turns up it will be super easy.

🤣 I almost had a penguin but it was caramel, went with an orange kitkat and a mocha one.

                              • Chocolate orange bars very welcome gf, OH likes the mint one too. Talking of chocolate I've just had the last piece of my pistachio lindt. My mum is into fruit and nut and maltesers these days, never known her eat either.

Enjoyed being outside today. Windy but enjoyable all the same, almost saw the sun but it went again.
