I haven't heard "speak with forked tongue" for years. It made me smile, particularly when you were using it to describe the met office.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You've definitely missed out CG! Sitting on the edge of your seat at teatime (on a Wednesday was it?) watching The Lone Ranger (and Tonto) catch the baddies yet again.

          • Glad you had a good time, LD. Which panto was it? A fish tea sounds like the perfect way to finish up. We're supposedly too full from lunch to eat tea (lentil and chard gratin), but I'm sure we could eat a fish tea or supper, no trouble!

I never watched the Lone Ranger, MH, but even I knew it was always the white man who spoke with forked tongue. Some things must be absorbed as if by osmosis.

There's long been a saying in Sheffield that originated from the Lone Ranger - "What's this 'we' Tonto"?

                  • I must have been really tired this evening as I started watching "The traitors" on TV and just fell asleep for two hours. I now feel wide awake and I don't suppose my nap will help me sleep tonight.. I'm not usually a fan of any sort of reality TV programme but I'm quite addicted to this. I'm now going to try watching it again on iplayer.

There seemed to be a lot of Western TV series in the sixties. I'm remembering the Lone ranger, Bonanza and Rawhide.

                          • Hi, I hope you can get your cough sorted out, Lottie. Obviously my nap earlier has not helped my insomnia.

                              • Mornin you two. I’ve just made you both a brew.
I was up anyway feeding Hibou,so it was no bother.
Shes doing pretty well considering by the way. Yesterday she was out hunting and caught a mouse or vole near our veggie patch!
Vet visit this afternoon for an update check and buy more meds.

Sorry to hear about your friend Lottie x

Right…lets see if a tummy full of warm tea will help ease me back into the land of nod…until the next feed time anyway ( during the night Hibou actually wakes me up asking for more by rattling a carrier bag on my side of the bed Can’t give her too much or she’s sick, so this is the best way, and I honestly don’t mind. She’s such a sweetie even in bad health)

Oh…and whoever it is who is snoring , could you keep the noise down a tad? Ta muchly.
