              • It was snowing earlier but stopped for now, there's only about an inch.

Sorry to hear you can't keep the gardening club going Rary, shame nobody else will step up and volunteer.

Talking of mince pies, I made four jars of mincemeat yesterday, three to put away so I can make mince pies in the summer, and one in the fridge as a filling for baked apples. There's nothing nicer than an out of season mince pie. 😋

                • Good morning fellow insomniacs.

After all the dire warnings about yesterday's weather we got not one flake of snow! Yet again the weathermen have surpassed themselves with their inaccuracy.

I got a phone call from an "old" friend yesterday. An invitation to his 100th birthday party next month.

Sorry to hear a out your gardening club, Rary. Glad to hear that Mrs Rary is getting her appetite back.

I didn't even know that you could still get Thorntons chocolates. I thought that they had gone downhill over the years and their coffee shops were a real let down. Our local one was known for it's bland, boring, dry, overpriced food and slow, incompetent staff.

It us very quiet this morning. Even if I concentrate really hard I cannot hear a distant hum of traffic from the M1.

I've finished my glass of milk, and galaxy chocolate now. I'm going to try to curl up and hibernate.

Shall I get the kettle on?

No snow here (not so far) but we still have the black ice.
Anyone out building snowmen?, or is it snowperson now.

Appt at the hospital later but may take a peek at my seeds today.

                    • Morning all.

No more snow overnight, it was very windy a while ago, and now sleet is falling.

Time for a cuppa and some porridge I think. I'll tiptoe round the kitchen and try not to rattle too much in case GF has gone back to sleep.

                          • Good morning,

No snow here. I slept most of yesterday, feeling a bit better today. Got a doctor's phone call this morning. I also need to sort an online food shop out. Anyone need anything before I order?

Think I am going to carry on reading my book today and rest and keep warm.

Hope you have a good day

                            • Morning all.

Bright blue outside at the moment. Drizzle forecast for the afternoon, though. Snow up in the nearby mountains but not here.

M is cooking lunch today, so I'll try and make the most of the morning to get some work done and fit some domestics in too.

I'm not sure if we're doing well or badly on the chocolate front. We just have two left in the house. Well in that we perhaps didn't get too much in. Or badly because we've eaten it all... There are some fruit jellies, though.

Hope the appts go well, CG and Carrie.

                              Have a great day, everyone.

                              • Morning

I spoke to soon yesterday evening it started snowing just after 8pm, we now have 4-5 inch of snow. Luckily we don't need to go out apart from clearing a bit of snow.

Rary its a shame about your gardening club, any chance you can get one of the others to keep it going.

Time for a mug of tea.
