I used to quite like Lion Bars and Crunchies...
I bought a Mars Bar the other day. Nothing like they used to be, more like a Milky Way with a bit of runny toffee added to it. A Mars Bar used to be difficult to finish. Not now.
Trying to think of savoury things for GF. But the only things I can think of are pretty awful - Shippams fish paste and Heinz sandwich spread. My brothers used to love the sandwich spread, I thought it was beyond disgusting.

Oh, I must admit that I did like the sandwich spread and would eat Sutherlands meat and fish spreads. Is the sandwich spread still available? To be fair I enjoyed practically anything on bread in those days. Nice dripping was a particular favourite.Originally posted by Snoop Puss View PostTrying to think of savoury things for GF. You know, the other night I texted my brother to see if he could remember what my mum used to have on a sandwich. Funnily enough it was sandwich spread! Oh yuk, not for me I’m afraid. Cheese triangles on the other hand…I could be persuaded!sigpic

Good evening, OH had a better night last night, managing to get out of bed in less than fifteen minutes, we thought that it might be easier for her to get out of bed from my side of the bed, so it was decided that we would swap sides, though to be honest I wasn't included in the decision making
and thinking back after almost sixty years of sleeping together there have only been a few times when she has slept on my left side and then it was when on holiday and the bed was against a wall, talk of creatures of habit, anyway it was an improvement, though not sure how it will go tonight as she has just said she is very sore, although I am late in posting I wasn't too busy today but the time just seems to have past by very quickly, I had to go up and set the heating in the church hall for tomorrow
then one of the grandsons came down with his bike to get things sorted, after checking it over all it realy needed was some clamps tightened and some pivet points lubricated, after that I showed him a job I want him to do for me, I need a gutter cleaned out so thats a job he can do for me the next dry day that he is off school, oh and he can access the gutter from the conservatory roof so not working from a ladder, while he was down there was a heavy rain shower and there was no water ingress so my repair is fine. Thanks Snoop for the info and advice re adjustable beds, I have noted that you advised a trial first but as OH has COPD and just now she is sleeping almost sitting up I think an adjustable bed would be a help for her, and if we go for one this no doubt will please one of the grandchildren as it will be our fifth bed in two years (well mattresses actually) and the grandchildren have received all the others leaving just one to go and of course this will be a complete bed, how come I never got anything like that when I was young
time to stop. No GF why dont you get a garden tripod and wrap tinsel round the legs and any cross bars, followed by some fairy lights a star at the top and bobbles on the cross bars, which means rather than it sitting till next year you could use it in the garden
Hace a good evening everyone and smile

Good morning.
Another sleepless night. Never mind, only a couple of hours until daybreak now. I won't say sunrise as I doubt that we will see much of the sun today.
I can hear the steady pitter patter of rain hitting the bedroom window. I've just been and made some coffee and also did some kitchen cleaning and tidying
as I've just totally given up on sleep, and I needed some reasonably mindless activity to occupy me.
On a happier note, I just had an email that I've won another £30 on the lottery. I do a lucky dip and a line with our dates of birth.
I think I actually slept for two hours from about midnight, since then I've tried everything. I don't, however, presume that coffee will help...... but it does taste nice.
I hope everyone else has had a better night's sleep than I have.
rary, it's not me that needs a slim Christmas tree. I was just wallowing in nostalgia with the ghosts of Christmas past.
Thinking about the ghost of Christmas past, I suppose that in the next month we will get every version of A Christmas Carol on TV, ad nauseum. I think my favourite Scrooge is still Alastair Sim.
Coffee has all gone now.
Maybe time to turn the thermostat up.

Morning all.
The early morning rain has petered out and the rest of the day is supposed to be dry. I can see a bit of blue sky, and the clouds have sun tipped edges. Kettle's on for more tea, no Yorkshire brew here I'm afraid, Nicos, as I take my tea black and Yorkshire is too strong to have like that, so the choice is Earl Grey, Lady Grey, lemon green, or sencha rose. Take your pick or bring your own bags.
