  • I had a delay getting into Notifications too Nicos. I've finally got in and dismissed what I'm sure is Spam
Shopping put away, now to make beef Burgers. It must be cold outside, our postman is wearing trousers (as opposed to shorts, I hasten to add)

    • I've just rung my brother in law as I got a text to say he's got an out patient appointment at a local(ish) hospital for next week. The police are coming to see him today to interview him about his stolen money.

The occupational therapists have also rung to say they are calling to see Mr GF again on Monday.

My grory hop has arrived and I'm trying to decide what to cook tonight.

      • Good afternoon sunny but cold today, was awake from three o'clock till almost six this morning, as OH was in so much pain, then slept till eight, was letting OH sleep on but daughter phoned at nine to see how her mother was doing and to tell me not to be going up to her house as she would be in due to her having covid, I later phoned to arrange a lumber x-ray for OH only to be told that this needs to be cleared with the radiologist first, I asked if tthey had received notification from the GP and yes they had but it still had to be cleared first, so,not sure what the difference is from a general x-ray is but will find out. OH then wanted me to go up to the church coffee morning where I had to give someone money for the church flowers, while there I had a quick cup of coffee then back home, I dont really feel comfortable being out without OH being with me, I am now sitting here considering whither to replace a security light at the back wall or not, not because I would be up ladders, but due to the fact my hands go blue and slightly numb when it is cold nowadays, will think on this for a bit. Have a pleasant day whatever your weather and pass on your smiles, remember someone might be grateful for that
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

        • While roaming around the virtual supermarket aisles earlier this week I had somehow wandered into the frozen aisle. A bag of 50 cocktail sized frozen sausage rolls had jumped into my trolley. I had then added some HP fruity sauce which I seemed to think I remembered that I liked in the dim and distant past. An hour or two ago I put half a dozen of the sausage rolls in the air fryer and we tried them with some fruity sauce. I'm not sure which of us enjoyed the combination most .... polished plates. Definitely both need to be added to my favourites.

Rary, I hope Mrs Rary (and you) has a better night tonight.

            • Good (early) morning.

I fell asleep watching TV in bed last night, but unfortunately awoke a couple of hours later and that is it Wide awake. I have considered grabbing my big fleece and going and making a coffee, but, although wide awake, I am at least warm and comfortable. It is freezing outside, -1°C and the car is an ice cube. I noticed this when I made a very quick trip to the bathroom earlier and although the thermostat is set to 18°C at night I am in no hurry to venture out again.

I hope everyone else is having a better sleep than me. I'm not overly upset as, if I need to, I can always have a nap in the daytime.

              • Morning all.

Crisp and frosty out again. Laundry day today so the washing machine is already earning its keep.

Christmas is only a month away so I've been looking at Christmas trees online as I want a narrower one to take up less space. I love my 4' wide one but I'm restricted as to where I can set it up. Can anyone recommend a good looking 3' wide one?

                • Morning all.

Hope you manage to get a decent bit of eyelid inspecting in later on, GF.

And good luck finding a tree, MH. The idea that Christmas is just a month away fills me with panic.

And with that, I'd best get on with some work. Coffee first, though. Anyone fancy joining me?

                  Have a great day, everyone.

                  • Mornin n’alln’all
Brrrr…here too. It looks like we might hit the dizzy heights of 5C later on
Frost forecast for every night this coming week so I best root out the extra bird feed and a couple of bowls for water for the birds.

We had either a kestrel or sparrow hawk ( think the latter ) puffed up in the garden yesterday morning looking down at the bluetits on the feeders yesterday …waiting for a quick snack
mothhawk it was hard to see the markings as it was so puffed up but is that more like the behaviour of a sparrow hawk? ( we have both here)

Ooo Snoop…a brew would be lovely please… I’ll bring my own Yorkshire tea bags if that’s ok?
Thinking if which, I guess we all have our own preferred make of teabag….I have to bring mine back from the uk by the 1,000s each year Looking at it that way, that’s a lot of mugs of tea!

We had to nip out yesterday for an appointment so went in the camper and pulled up in a beauty spot and had a picnic. Heater on…heated throw, hot mugs of tea …whilst watching big snowflakes falling around us and melting on the van windows. Felt quite magical tbh. I so love the non- commercial run up to Xmas

                    Right…best get a wiggle on !

Keep warm and safe, and enjoy your day peeps

A frosty crisp sunny start here to the day here.

MH there does seem to be a lot of choice out there for slim trees but you can't really tell with just seeing a phots.

We use Co-op loose leaf tea at home then tea bags when camping still brew in a pot though, oddly they taste different even when we 've used them at home.

                      enjoy your day

                      • Good morning, feels very cold this morning showing -3 at present, was up just before three again through the night and got back to bed just after four but couldn't get back to sleep for ages, OH was supposed to going to give a blood sample but have just phoned and rearranged one for Monday also asked if there are any other pain killers that could be used other than or along with the tramadol, as she can't suffer this much longer, will find out when the doctor phones later. Anyway enough of my moans, I hope you all keep warm and stay safe and if anyone has the snow remember your age and that you dont have to go out and play in it, though its very tempting to do so, isn't it and please remember to pass on your smiles

                        • Good morning again.

The sun is shining and we still have a thick frost (-1°C). I am enjoying a mug of strong coffee. I very rarely drink tea. Mr GF drinks decaffeinated Tetley tea by the bucketful however and I buy him massive catering bags (sacks) of his favourite from Amazon .... at a fraction of supermarket prices. Can you get yours online in France, Nicos?

The temperature is forecast to stay above zero for the next week. No snow, very little sunshine but plenty rain

Your excursion in the camper sounds quite like a picture on the front of a Christmas card, Nicos. You just need to add a snowman.☃️

rary, I hope you get some relief for Mrs Rary's pain. When I had fractured vertabrae they prescribed diazepam in addition to tramadol as all the muscles in my back had evidently locked up as well. When Mr GF broke several ribs he was prescribed morphine in addition to tramadol. I can't stand to see anyone suffer, even worse when it's someone you love.

                            • Good morning all. Another White frosty morning here.
No need to go outdoors today so it will be domestics.

We are tea lovers and use Barrys teabags.
If we use coffee, it will usually be an Irish coffee, but only occasionally.

Rary, my sympathies to Mrs Rary, constant pain is so wearing, perhaps a pain injection might help.

I am not thinking about Christmas trees just yet, my sister is coming home from London today for two weeks. so I will enjoy her company and then get down to the business of Christmas.
Have a good day all and stay warm.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,

                              • Morning, well it’s a cold and frosty morning. It’s 11am and we’ve reached the heady heights of 1°
I’m so sorry to read about Mrs. Rary, I do hope the doctor can help. Pain is so debilitating. I had a fractured vertebrae and had radiotherapy for it.
i love my decaf Yorkshire tea, the only decaf that tastes like real tea.
Hope you all have a fabulous day. Stay cosy. x
