That's really lovely GF. Fair Isle and Aran are my two favourites to knit. I have nobody to knit for now though, and a wardrobe full of woolly jumpers I knitted for myself, so I can't justify another.

Poor Mrs Rary, what pain she must feel. At least now you know the problem and know it's going to take a while to heal. Not the best time of year to be immobile though, so make sure you keep her warm, Rary!

rary, give Mrs Rary a hug from me. I, unfortunately, have suffered several fractured vertebrae. They are really, really painful. I was on the maximum dose of tramadol for a short time and even then could barely move, unable to even lift a kettle and make a cup of tea. When I got a diagnosis as to what had caused them things improved and, although I'm a bit more careful these days I haven't had any more fractures since I started getting treatment.

Yup…Just a sprinkling, which has now mostly melted.But I have to say it really lifted my heart when I looked outside as the sun rose.
I guess though it’s the best snow in that it’ll be gone very soon and won’t turn to slush and ice.

The chooks were happy with their warm mash this morning for sure, even though they walk around snuggled up in their own personal duvets.

I hope Mrs Rary had a better night…send very gentle hugs from me too please.

Morning all.

Yes please to the brew, Nicos. We had a white frost here, though it's mostly gone off the grass and roofs now. All the cars are still frosted over though. I closed all the curtains last night, something I rarely do as I like to see out if I go for a wander to the bathroom in the middle of the night, so the house this morning was a reasonable 15C till the heating came on. Not bad as it goes off at 8pm.

Nothing planned except a library visit today, not till the frost has lifted off the car though, my days of having to scrape off the ice have passed.

Yeh- scraping windscreens always used to seem to need doing on days when I was running late anyway. Absolutely hated doing it.
For that reason most appointments I make - if given a choice of times- tends to be late morning for that reason, or early afternoon so I don’t have to drive home in the dark down unlit country lanes.

Morning all.

Very cold here, but no go for snow. Need to top up the firewood in the house because we've been burning loads these last couple of days. The pellet heater has been doing its thing, but I do like a fire in the bedroom and having the little range on for constant hot water and for cooking.

Sorry to hear about Mrs Rary. What have they suggested as treatment, Rary?

Good morning all.

It's a cloudy, breezy 1°C here. Despite the alarmist forecasts, I never saw so much as a flake of snow yesterday, and there is no more in the forecast for the next week. I quite like looking at it, but prefer not to drive in it these days. I also hate having to defrost the car. When I had the allotments I thought of snow as the great leveller. It was the one time of year when all the allotments looked equally pretty ...... even ours

I've another grory hop due between 11am and noon. I'm sure a few "goodies" sneaked onto my list.

Mr GF is still 😴😴. Yet again, I didn't manage to get to sleep and stay asleep. I've no idea why. I was certainly warm and comfortable. I'm a big fan of brushed cotton bedding.

I think that I can just hear the binmen outside now. I don't fancy their job in this freezing weather. When I was a child the binmen used to carry the metal bins (no wheels) on their backs and manually tip them into the wagon. They really were a tough breed. A lot of the waste was ashes from the fire.

I think that more coffee is in order now.

Is anyone else having trouble with he vine ? for the past few mornings its been slow I even get an egg timer at times. I posted in the cooking thread at 9.30 and only just got back into the vine. I'm not having a problem with any other sites or forums.

Good Morning All Ner sner here yet even though it's cold enough. No delays on the Vine for me Bren. I've got a lemon drizzle cake in the oven requested yesterday by my eldest GG for a tea party this afternoon. Grory Hop on its way. Have a good day

I've been having problems intermittently for a couple of days. Yesterday was evidently a problem with cloudflare which affected a lot of sites. Earlier this morning I couldn't get onto the vine and it won't let me into 'notifications' although it has let me post.

Update, after freezing yet again when I tried to go into the message centre, it has now let me go in and delete a lot of notifications from what looks like spam posts and everything is now, touch wood, working normally again.

Good morning all, sparkly white frost here and the sun is shining.
My OH always poured warm water on the windscreen with no Mrs Rary is getting some pain relief now they know what is causing it.

Rary, I hope your wife is getting some pain relief now that they found the cause.

Lots of my jigsaw made last night but its still not finished.
Some shopping today and then I will be indoors.
