  • Good morning, raining here again, Snoop as they are my children, I have, well their mother, has, told them to be mannerly, so as they say lead by example, though next time I will sit quietly on the side now off to get ready for church, and as its Remembrance Sunday the church service will be a bit later than normal, fortunately though its raining its mild, so no frozen fingers or toes when at the memorial, have a good day and keep your smiles close so you can pass them on to others
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

    • Good morning all, a mild 13 degs here and it's dry.
Off out to the church shortly.
Family get together for lunch today to celebrate some November birthdays.
      Have a good day all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.

      • Morning, it’s damp and 12° but it’s to cheer up later. Was going to go for a walk but I’ve an ingrown toenail which is rather painful this morning. Why does everyone laugh when you say you have an ingrown toenail, it’s really not funny! 😁
        Have a great day everyone.

Great to see you back Nicos!!!

        • Afternoon All Ouch Jay, I'm not laughing, it sounds painful. Dull and cold here. I ended up starting a Christmas scene jigsaw and a new book yesterday Bren and it's looking like more of the same today. Have a lovely Sunday

          • Afternoon or evening not sure which seeing as it’s dark out and we’ve just closed the curtains.

I’m starting a new jigsaw tomorrow Flo just got to decide which one. I don’t think I have a Christmas scene though.

Jay hope your toe eases, otherwise call in at the pharmacy for advice.

            • Morning all.

The sun is shining. I've just put the bin out and it's mild and windless. Fine before seven, rain before eleven - usually right at this time of year. Have a good day all.

              • Morning all.

Blue with a bit of hazy cloud this morning. Quite chilly. Got the range going already. I reckon we're turning nesh. A few years back I'd have stuck a blanket over my legs and called it a day. I still might, come to think of it.

Up the valley for brunch again. Yesterday's spicy lunch was a great success. The neighbours down the valley struggled with the chutneys, especially the Geeta's lime and chilli chutney - my absolute favourite, so more for me! - but managed everything else. M had dialled down the spiciness a bit, but it was their first curry. So hats off to them. The tortilla they brought just in case wasn't touched even by them till right at the end out of politeness.

I didn't get much work done yesterday, unsurprisingly, but fingers crossed I manage to get through some today.

Have a great day, everyone. Especially you, Jay. Hope you manage to get it sorted. Definitely no laughing matter.

Dull and cloudy just now heavy rain due at 12-ish, MH it seems that old saying is correct.

Snoop this time of year I wear lined trousers they do make a huge difference along with thermal tops. I'm dressed like that then I see someone walking past wearing a t-shirt and shorts.

                  enjoy your day

                  • Mornin n’alln’all

Looks like I have the rain today…steady drizzle since I woke up.

Ochy ouch Jay..that sounds really painful. Can you even put your shoes on?…ooo just the thought makes me wince! Hope it heals quickly!

Nothing much planned for me today. I finished my book yesterday so might have a look at the others I put aside to read.

We’ve lit the fire here too Snoop. Nothing wrong with wanting to be warm. I always feel the cold- even wearing thermals
Glad the visitors enjoyed the curry….you just never know do you?
OH made a selection of 9 curry dishes from scratch about 12 years ago for our french friends and the one person we were really doubtful about was the one who just tucked in again and again!. Most of them just picked at it.

Hope you had a lovely family day yesterday bramble? Sound lovely.

Have a great day everyone- and remember to share your lovely smiles.

                    • Good morning.

The sun is shining, and it feels cold. Rain is, yet again, in the offing, however. Out of curiosity, I've just googled our reservoir levels. Evidently rising, but still lower than normal. It does make me wonder how we can possibly have enough storage capacity when the reservoirs were built when our population was a fraction of what it is now.

I had a great night's sleep for a change, and feel much better for it. The central heating is now working hard. I am definitely nesh these days, Snoop. Much as I love coal fires and woodburners, and have pandered to their whims in the past, the instantaneous response to the twist of a thermostat is a joy. I am also a devotee of the voluminous fleece hoody (Mr GF's in reality). I was putting some rubbish out late last night, after having a shower, and chatting to a neighbour walking past with his dog. I've only just realised that I probably resembled an abominable snowman as I was wearing the offending item. I do have hoodies of my own, but they are a couple of sizes smaller and probably don't belong in the same rent a tent category.

I was chatting to one of my sisters yesterday. She was bemoaning the fact she had to go to a meeting for her work and possesses no smart winter clothes. As she says, she doesn't like wearing them so doesn't buy them. I realised that I am the same. We were reminiscing about the hideous, itchy, homemade garments of our childhood. We also both share an aversion to shoes. Sandals or boots, yes .... shoes no. My boots will probably appear with the first snow, or maybe heavy frost .... certainly not yet. Thank heaven we no longer have to wear the clothes that I remember adults wearing in my childhood ..... and even more so the corsetry! I do remember my mother once buying me a panty girdle which loitered unworn in my drawers for years. I'm sure my beloved Wranglers, that I had to lie on the bed to pull the zip up, did a far better job. I was never "Stepford wife" material.

Time for more coffee I think .....

                      ...Why Is auto correct not letting me write instantaneous?? I n s t a n t a n e o u s.?

It's a weird thing to do with typing tan tan without a space in between. We had this crop up a while back, but there's no way to change it apparently. So instead of doing things instantaneously, you now have to do them in an instant.

                            • Good evening, did a washing this morning and hung some of it out before going for the messages, went to three different shops and bought some things I like, I somehow got the impression that OH wasnt too impressed with some of my purchases, as she said she really needs to get moving again, then when I bought the washing in, it was " You didnt hang those jeans out did you, they need to go in the bin" but I told her that I am really a fashion icon, long before the young folk started buying torn jeans, I was running about with jeans with a torn ar.. backside and of course with a well worn stressed look to them, much the same as the ones I now wear out to the garden, I think she gets a bit upset when I go up the town with them on, me, I just dont see the sense of dressing up just to nip up the town for five minutes, but then again women have a different outlook to men Now off to make the tea so enjoy the evening and remember to pass on your smiles
