  • Morning all.

What a palaver, rary. Sounds like your son will start measuring doors now! Hope your back is OK this morning.

Verbena bonariensis sounds nice. I'll have to see if I can find some seeds.

Very autumnal this morning. Decidedly cool on the walk. The figs I picked on our obligatory pit stop by the tree on the way back were positively cold. Still made a nice breakfast treat, though. Help yourselves to the ones in the bowl. The skin is a bit spotty, but the insides are very jammy.

Out this morning for a few errands in the village then back home to work. And domestics. Most definitely domestics...

    Have a great day everyone.

    • I have verbena hastata which is more hardy for here.

Had our dog walk, need breakfast next. I'd like to get some pricking out/potting on done before the rain sets in- we shall see. Also need to catch up on sewing bee.
Saw lung consultant yesterday, after cleaning my lungs they've found fungus , which they were surprised at, also concerns re high white cells and all starting when i stopped steroids. Although I'm showing autoimmune in remission, is it? Seeing other consultant next week and will need another scan some point.

      • Wow CG…they are certainly being thorough with you. No wonder you’re not feeling well.
It does sound like they are on the homestretch of homing in on your problem though.

I heard a term the other day which I think is so accurate…..’scanxiety’. The waiting for a scan and then their results.Usually related to cancer, but I guess it could be applied to other medical issues.
Fingers crossed next week will present with more positive results and actions for you x

Nicos I'm lucky here all our charity shops have jigsaws, so there's usually a puzzle i like but to spot 3 was a surprise.

CG hopefully with the next consultant will give you the answers and treatment you need.

Thanks for the figs Snoop, a bit messy to be typing and munching on them at the same time

          enjoy your day

              • Good morning all, dull and wet and grey.
I am thinking of going to town but don't to be walking around in the rain,
My grandson has started making jigsaws..as yesterday was wet I bought him one to make after school.
                They are not cheap...€15 for a child's puzzle....550 pieces.
I' will be checking out the charity shops in future.
Nicos, hope you get time in the garden to play with your shredder.
CG, take care of yourself, that's a lot to cope with,
                Have a good day all,

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                  • Good morning all.

Another night of broken sleep. For some unknown reason my brain seems to have programmed my body to wake up at 3am recently.

It feels rather cool this morning. Evidently it should be raining but it isn't yet, although it doesn't feel too far away. As I was closing the curtains last night, I spotted a hedgehog again. It always surprises me just how fast they can move. MR GF says that when he was a little boy, he found a "dead" one in the garden. He, therefore, buried it. When he told his dad, his dad told him about hibernation. When they went to dig it back up, it had already gone. Mr GF, who attended a church school, always referred to it as Lazarus, when telling anyone the story.

CG, I hope that your consultants manage to sort out and treat your problems soon.

Rary, I 'm glad you got your son's fridge/freezer sorted. How would your family manage without you? We had new doors and windows installed at one point and couldn't get an old leather settee out. In the end I took it to pieces. Mr GF got presented with some wood for his allotment, the decent leather went in my craft box and the sponge/foam went to the skip. Fortunately the new one we had ordered was a recliner which had to be assembled in situ.

                    The rain has just arrived.....

                    • Currently sat out in the sun with a cuppa. Not for long I don't think as the dark clouds are moving in.

Thing is I don't feel unwell apart from coughing. He isn't going to treat the fungus with a load of toxic medication which could easily make me worse, so a scan to see how the lungs are after rinsing.
The rest will see on next blood tests.
Just to keep myself well, eat well, keep weight down and keep strengthening the lungs.
If I need something further down the line will wait and see.

                      • Good afternoon,it has been dull all day and now its raining, definitely getting a lot cooler here, so can see the heating going on soon, OH decided that she would try doing a shopping this morning and as I will be off the road for two or three weeks at the end of the month it was decided that the freezer should be stocked up, the discussion to come to that decision must have been between OH and herself, as all I had to do was, do as I was told anyway shopping done and freezers filled. I was trying to load some photos for my blog but was unsuccessful I thought if I loaded photos via this thread I could then use those photos in my blog, unfortunately it didnt happen , so now wondering if computer programs just cant keep up with sensible thoughts, or I was moving too fast for it now that would be something to smile about if it was true, then on the other hand I suppose I could have done something wrong, naa that cant be right I'm a male when are we ever wrong I think I will sign off and shut down before any of you try to throw something at me, but I will happly accept your smiles, if you pass them on to me
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                            • Good evening all..It rained all day so I packed up a bag of clothes for the charity shop.
There's a bit more space in the wardrobes now.

Bren, thats a really good price for the puzzles, I must look more thoroughly.
Have a good evening and sleep peacefully.

it's struggling to get light this morning with all the cloudy, we are due a very showery wet day so I doubt I will get outside.
Think I will tackle the delightful grory hop and hope for inspiration what to have tonight.
