  • Congratulations to everyone out celebrating tonight! Hope you have a lovely evening.

GF…that was nice and quick for the delivery! A Perfect backup on occassion.

I’ve just finished weeding one section of the driveway and got rained off. Glad it’s done as I sort of created a meandering walkway through the weeds and it looks rather quaint!

Just having a bit of a break then need to go and collect plums. We have a glut. I know we were expecting quite a few but heck…they’ve really swollen with all the rain we’ve had.
I’m actually rather tempted to buy a heated juicer…has anyone got one?

    • Good afternoon, a cloudy but warm day today, when I got up this morning my leg was back to normal size and only a slight discoloration, so my jailer (OH) let me go up the town for some messages, so once back home I was out to the garden where I did some weeding, unfortunately my leg started to feel a bit warm so now back in the house with the leg elevated, of course it was the weeding that caused it not the going for some messages while I was up the town our son dropped in to leave Poppy with us as he and the family were heading for Glasgow, then daughter dropped in with Daisy and Rosey, not to leave them she was out a walk with them and just popped in to see us, she said she would be back down to collect some lilies and tomatoes, but not sure she will be getting any as she snaffaled some of my Maltesers , Poppy is now settled down at my feet, sorry that should be foot, and sound asleep, a condition which I think I will be joining her in shortly.Have a good day and dont keep the smiles to yourself, better sharing

I like that idea Snoop thanks.

        • Mornin n’alln’all

No idea why, but I’m awake early. Had two mugs of tea hoping that they might have a soporific effect…but nope

Anyway…to OH’s delight ()I’ve spotted there is a small Vide Grenier not far away- so we’ll head off to that fairly soon, then get back and pick up more fallen cherries.
Total so far? ….12 full sized buckets of rotten cherries What a waste. It was the 40C heatwave which baked them before they were fully ripe, then the heavy rains caused them to rot on the tree. At least the wasps, butterflies…and now the hornets are enjoying them!
Hope everyone has a lovely day…and remember to share those lovely smiles of yours!

          • Good Morning Nicos and All I too was awake very early this morning, so I made myself a cup of tea and finished my book in bed. Had a lovely time last night, the food was so good and excellent company. The only hiccup was the walk from and to the taxis - we hadn't taken into account that parts of the city's roads we're closed because of Tramlines! Very crowded streets and oh the sights!
It's quite cool and dull here. Bacon is sizzling. Have a lovely Sunday

              • Morning all.

Glad things are coming together for you, LD. And glad you had a good night out, Flo. And hope you enjoy the vide grenier, Nicos.

Mr Snoop is indeed back home, LD. A bit of a palaver getting back though, as the car wasn't where he'd left it in a lot full of other cars. And no signs anywhere that the lot had to be left clear on Fridays for a market. 170 euros to recover his car... The guys at the pound said it happens a lot. Out-of-towners would have no idea. Easy money for the council. Anyway, he had a good time away. And at least the pound was open 24 hours, so he didn't have to wait till today to get his car back.

Got a lot to get through today now that Mr Snoop can entertain Jack for a bit. Phew! In fact, I'd better get a move on.

                Have a great day, everyone.

                • Morning

That's a lot of cherries Nicos not nice clearing them away with hornets around. Good luck bargain hunting today.

Snoop easy money especially if its a regular assurance no signage does seem odd.

It's raining here not sure for how long but it'll save me watering my seedlings.

                  Enjoy your Sunday.

                    • Good morning all.

I couldn't drop to sleep, but once I did sometime after 1am, helped by lots of sudoku, quizzword, etc, I slept solidly until after 8 am.

It's grey and cool this morning, with a 46% chance of rain in the next 2 hours, according to the forecast. Where do they get such random numbers from?

It's one of my sisters birthdays today. She is travelling back from a cruise, but her card and present should be waiting for her when she gets home. It's the first time that I haven't had to write "No peeping" on her present.

I unpacked and slotted the new wheelchair together in a few minutes. Mr GF is not impressed. His first comment was, "Who is that for?"

I might lose some weight and build some muscle if he uses it regularly. The nurse?? (or whatever she was) at the surgery this week asked me if I wanted to get weighed. The scales were in the middle of the floor. I declined but did tell her that last years shorts were nicely loose but I still had no chance of getting into my jeans.

I've just sent a link to my other sister who inherited my fig tree, and has a small one of her own. Fig leaf recipes....

                      https://www.diaryofacountrygirl.com/...eaf-ice-cream/

Thinking about presents for siblings, this year I intend making a very early batch of "C-word" puddings, maybe even a cake too. Hopefully in time to send to my little brother in Australia overland rather than by airmail like last year. To be fair I found airmail to the other side of the world, particularly if buying the postage online, reasonable in comparison to sending a letter in this country, which I only do on very rare occasions now.

Flo, I'm trying to imagine some of the sights that you saw last night.

Rary, I'll send you a "Get out of jail free" card if you promise to behave....but not by Royal Mail.

                      Right, more caffeine.

                      • Oh dear GF…hadn’t your OH heard you properly when he agreed- or maybe just forgotten?
Well, you have it now and it’s certainly going to come in handy .

I never would have thought of doing anything with fig leaves!( apart from the Biblical use of them ) nice link there!

Not much at the vide Grenier- just a top and dress for my granddaughter and a quoits garden game…all for the Grand sum of 1.50€
I’m quite a people watcher and often have a bit of a chuckle and admiration of others. Always entertaining and educational watching large groups of people just enjoying ( or not!) their day.

Wow Snoop…that’s a lot of money . Not fair really is it? I guess your OH was just relieved it hadn’t been pinched?

I’m just about to have a choc ice…anyone else fancy one?

                        • Afternoon, long time no see. Hope you are all well. Just been to meet our new granddaughter, what can I say! 😀
Came home on Monday and ended up being sent to hospital by NHS24 on Thursday suffering from an upper respiratory infection. Temperature way through the roof! Thankfully antibiotics have kicked in and starting to feel much better now.
Traffic was awful both ways, I’m not complaining as it was due to accidents on the motorway. 2 hours to travel 18 miles but at least we were fine.
Anyhoo, off for a quick catch up. Enjoy the rest of your day. x

                          • Good afternoon, We got home very very late last night, or should I say in the early hours of this morning.
Had a bit of a late lie in soonly getting around to posting now.
It was sunny earlier but its dull and looking like rain.

Nicos, what a shame so much Cherries have gone to waste, that's the weather for you, never know what it's going to be like.

Snoop, we have seen this happen to others I Spain, parking their car and not knowing its in a market area.

Rary, good to know your leg is improving, take it easy.

After the late night we are just having a chill out day.
Enjoy the sunshine those who are lucky to have it,

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Two points from your post GF, 1st. Numbers like 46 come from selecting from the prime digets 0 to 9, these numbers can be mixed in any combination or doubled trebled etc. to make up whatever number you want

                                According to gooooogle…46 is…
”It's the largest even integer that cannot be expressed as the sum of two abundant numbers. It's also the sixteenth semiprime, and a sequence of 47 consecutive integers exists where each inner member shares a factor with the first or last member. In addition, the number 46 is significant in various contexts, including numerology and angel numbers. ”
