  • Might the ward give you a barrier pass GF…valid for a few days?
I think some hospitals do that/ used to do that if it’s in the interest of the patient that you need to be there for hours each day. No harm in asking!
what did you do in the end to manage to get out? ( I’m imagining a Hulk moment here where you rip the barrier off in frustration)

    • Good afternoon, a dull occasionally wet day today, did quite a bit of work, between showers, in the garden yesterday that plus having to take one of the grandsons to get his hair cut, with no buses its a problem for the young folk to get about, was just home when his brother arrived, water running off him, he was doing some volunteer work at a local cattle show and with some heavy showers he was soaked to the skin, he then along with his brother proceeded to eat us out of house and home, how is it they seem to like everything that I like?.
Was at church this morning, fortunately we missed some heavy showers while out, was just home when daughter arrived in with a father's day present for me, so now have a box of chocolates to work through though it will be several weeks or possibly months before I start eating them, which will drive OH mad as shes a bit of a chocoholic where as I can take it or leave it. On giving some thought to Friday, apart from OH being in a shop with the bank card I'm wondering if the fact that when I stood up I had severe pain across the base of my back caused the high blood pressure, I will definitely be moving about more the next time I go in, I am now going to get ready to go up to our sons as we have been invited up for our tea, for fathers day, so have a good evening and keep smiling

      • Working well through my tick lists today…but have stopped now that the crumble is baked.
That was my target…carry on no matter what ..until then. Yup…you guessed- I’ve managed to do a couple of hours of ironing on top of gardening ‘stuff’
Glad I prepared the salad earlier!

Hope you have a lovely evening Rary- you deserved a bit of spoiling/ pampering

        • Hello again.

Nicos, thankfully I didn't need to go into hulk mode with the parking barrier. There was a little help button on the machine you insert your ticket in. I talked to the machine, and it let me out. Fortunately, if required, I would have had instant proof that I had paid, as I'd paid by debit card and I always get a message to my phone confirming any payments instantly.

Mr GF was already haranguing the staff at the ward reception with an incessant monologue when I got to the hospital. "I want to go home".

I asked the sister in charge "Why not?" He can walk as well as before. The hospital is doing his mental health no favours, and to put the boot in, I did add that after yesterday's incident, I thought that he would be safer at home.

          Hopefully.....tomorrow after seeing the doctor.

I never had my drink last night. Maybe a "little" G &T now.

            • Oh dear, Rary! In our house I, the chocoholic, would simply eat the chocolate and make Mr GF something that he really likes to eat instead. All with his tacit agreement. He's a cake lover.

                Hope you had that GnT?

                • Morning all.

Good luck, GF. Hope it all goes well today and Mr GF is restored to his rightful place back home.

Weather's going to be hot and bright, but I've done my outdoor duties (a bit of watering), so I'm back inside with a pile of work to get through before an afternoon outing.

Off to see a woman about a dog. We got in touch with the local cat and dogs' home, thinking the whole thing would take ages. Turns out they have a puppy that would fit our bill now (just a couple of months old and according to the vets will be around 20 kg when fully grown). Feels very odd getting another dog so soon but just about the only dogs they get are huge hunting dogs that are nervous around people. Not suitable for a house with no fenced garden, two cats and lots of friends who visit, some of them with small kids. So we're minded to take this one while the going's good. Hope it all works out, as I'm still really upset about our last one.

Right, better get on with the work.

                  Have a great day everyone.

                  • Morning all.

I'm sure a new puppy will ease the pain of losing your last dog, Snoop, and bring you joy again.

Fingers crossed for you, GF, that Mr GF can come home today and be well again.

Did you get tea in bed today Flo? Or is Mr FF subtly breaking with tradition and giving up the task entirely?

It's going to be hot here today. have a good day all.

                    • Good morning all.

I didn't have a G & T in the end. I was just so tired. I have actually had over six hours of solid, unbroken sleep and feel much better. I am crossing my fingers for today.🤞There is a big Mr GF shaped hole in my life and bed at the moment.

Snoop, good luck with the dog. It won't replace your old one but I'm sure it will carve out it's own special place in your affections.

It's forecast to be another hot one today, mid twenties.

Off to make some coffee now.

                        • Mornin n’alln’all

Cloudy at the moment but forecast to get hot later, so we’ll be shifting and splitting the rest of the wood today.
Turns out to be really well seasoned oak…but with huuuge knots , so not the usual wood he delivers. We’re really chuffed with it tbh.
Be interesting to see what the next 10 cubic metres will be like.

Glad you had a decent sleep GF…crossing my fingers for your OH today x

Snoop!…oh wow!…I’m crossing my fingers for you too. So hope this is the perfect puppy for you. And as Lottie says, we’ll be wanting photos please if he/ she comes home with you!
Of course you are still grieving your other lass ….a new puppy isn’t a replacement…just another being which is going to find a place in your heart….awww…fingers crossed!

Anyone else wanting fingers crossing today? It’s going to make ironing fun

Enjoy your day peeps…and remember that smile!

Snoop, exciting news, a new puppy, looking forward to hearing the antics and finding a name.

GF, my fingers are crossed that all goes well at the hospital and Mr GF gets back home.

Flo, I too get a cup of tea and the newspaper in bed and would sorely miss it...we get set in our ways.

Lots of errands to be done today so busy here.
