      • Morning, lovely and sunny here today! The rain yesterday came to nothing really.
Enjoy the haircut Flo! Not long now until the wedding.
Nicos, our granddaughter has been in pre-school for a while now. Hope yours enjoys it as much as ours does. Can you believe they are off to school already?! Time has flown.
Have a great day everyone. x

        • Good morning all.

The sun has come out to play again this morning and we're heading back into the low 20s temperature wise this afternoon.

Great news about the olive trees, Snoop. One of our favourite foods.

My online grory hop is due between 10am and 11am.

Nicos, I used to love the Asterix and Obelix books. The school library had the original French ones and I used to delight in taking them home to read, as my mother had a weird dislike of "comics" and would not normally let me read them. I do remember that she was never bothered that I read my dad's "News of the World" and "Reveille" from about age 5 or 6 though. I was a totally indiscriminate reader and probably knew far too much about the scandals of the day rather than Desperate Dan, Dennis the Menace and The Bash St Kids.

My shopping has arrived, including two gorgeous looking punnets of strawberries.

Flo you sound as if you're all organised for the wedding now.

Nicos, can't you get all white tea towels and bleach them?

Jay I hope your rain has stopped and your whirlie is pulling it's weight. We actually have a 50% chance of rain on Saturday. I can't remember the last time we had any.

          • Good afternoon, busy morning so I am only getting time to check in now.
Sunny here but a bit coolor..

Flo, your hair looks lovely and I am sure it will be perfect on the big day,

Nicos, anxious granny....I am sure your little Rose will be fine, making new friends.

Jay, hope that whirlie is earning it's keep.

            Have a good afternoon all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

              Did anyone have a frost?

Lots on the agenda for today, so it’s an early start for me .
Bit too early in reality , but Hibou was bouncing around the bedroom again Can’t complain cos she’s such a love.

Enjoy your day peeps- and remember to pass on that smile

              • Morning

It was a tropical 11.4c in my GH overnight that's the warmest yet, so no frost here Nicos.

                Enjoy your day.

                • Morning all.

Chilly here last night. No frost, but a few of my onion seedlings have keeled over, probably not the cold but the weight of snails hanging off them.

On the cards for today, a bit of admin, a bit of work and a lot of domestics after all the visitors.

Supposedly bright today, so I might see about using the proofer box as a yogurt maker.

Hope your granddaughter had a good time yesterday, Nicos.

                  Have a great day, everyone.

                  • Good morning.

No frost here, we only dropped to 9°C.We did spot the sun earlier, but it appears to have disappeared now. We have the possibility of showers at the weekend. Typical Bank Holiday weather, I suppose.

I had an awful night's sleep, compounded by Mr GF serenading me at 6 am. (Yes, he is still alive, but the air was blue)

I must call round to visit my brother in law later today. My wardrobe, still bulging at the seams, is also trying to make me feel guilty.

I succumbed to a bulk buy offer yesterday. 5 packs of a brand of toilet paper we like on a very cheap offer. The problem? It was 5 packs of 18. I now have a car boot full of loo roll while I think about where I'm going to store all 90 rolls.

Time for more caffeine, I think.

                      • Te he gf…I bought 7 packs of 12 loo rolls yesterday
                        You just pipped me
My excuse is that they too were on offer, but they are septic tank friendly which seem to be getting harder to find unless they are rubbishly thin. I’m just hoping they aren’t end of line

                        • The sun has just come out, temporarily, I think, judging by the amount of cloud cover. We also have a chilly Northeasterly wind.

I am studiously ignoring my wardrobe and have just made half a dozen raspberry buns (half recipe), supposedly for Mr GF. I only made a half recipe as I hadn't made them for ages and had forgotten what oven temperature and timing I used to use. I gave them 15 minutes at gas 6, and they must be okay, as we have just eaten two each, before the were properly cold. Only two left now...... Is it even worth putting them in a tin?

                          • Good afternoon another sunny day, have been busy creosoting my hut, still a bit to do,it used to be a job that I got done in about 3 hrs now taking a bit longer, must be the brush I'm using . Gf just before the lockdown we did similar to you, bulk buying of toilet rolls, we actual bought 12 packs of 18 which was added to the several packs that we already had, I will give you two guesses who never had a shortage of toilet rolls during the lockdown though we did give a fair number to others, and no I didn't feel guilty about it when the shortage was mentioned on tv after all they were all purchased before there was a hint of a shortage. Right coffee break finished back out to complete my creosoting, enjoy the rest of the day and pass on some smiles
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

                            • Gosh no gf…they need checking asap to see if they’ve already gone off!

We have steady heavy rain here… getting heavier and darker by the minute. Very much needed.
Seeing as we’ve lit the fire, it now feels like it’s about 8pm or later

I have however made the first step towards making the curtains…bit like a jigsaw cutting them to size with as little waste as possible….hoping to get 5 …or even 6 …curtains out of 2 large ones!

                              • Afternoon, another beautiful day and 21°. Unfortunately, although we do need the rain, it’s all downhill from Saturday!
Have a huge ironing to do but that can wait until next week.
Sitting in the garden when there was a huge hullabaloo, seagulls, jackdaws, starlings all screeching something awful. On my neighbours roof was a huge buzzard, they all clubbed together to see him off.
Enjoy the rest of your evening folks! x
