Good morning.

It's a chilly morning here. Nicos, I'd say we've got more chance of hypothermia than sunburn. The brushed cotton bedding is still in use, the heating is on and I'm wearing a warm hoodie.🥶 No sign of the sun.

I hope you get some good weather, good food, good company, and lots of fun, Lottie.

My washer is working hard again. I really ought to get the vac out today too and still at the top of my "list" is sorting out my wardrobe. It's full, but I've got nothing to wear!

Morning! Whirlie was delivered at 7.30 last night. Here was me thinking all we have to do is slot it into existing ground spike as it’s the same make and size but no the pole is ever so slightly bigger!! Grr.

Warm and sunny for today

An egg, mushroom and bean cob here, very tasty. Oddly after having Covid I stopped eating bacon and drinking coffee both just didn't taste the same anymore.

Just realised the ground is rock hard so this is going to be a pain in the derrière trying to get this ground spike in. Don’t think we’ll bother. 😂

Oh dear, Jay. Hope you find some kind of solution.

Afternoon all. Had an excellent outing. Proper ice-cream but no fish supper. Ended up with a burger instead, but a good one, so that was all right. Saxophonist really good, much better than the rest of the band, to be honest, but still an excellent event. Also came home with lots of goodies from the German supermarket chains. They've gone upmarket since I last visited one of them. Rather kicking myself for not buying a packet of Pak Choi, if nothing else just to find out what it's like.

In our absence, looks like someone turned up the thermostat at home. We've suddenly shot up from the mid teens to top twenties. Our poppy season has been incredibly long this year, but looks like it'll come to an end now.

Funnily enough Snoop, our poppy season is only just getting going. So glad you had a great time, and of course your foodie momentoes from your trip. Can’t beat icecream at the seaside either!

I’m going to try to get back to sleep…Hibou is clambering over the bed purring even though the back door is open and she has fresh food, biscuits and water. Frustrating and delightful at the same time.
Think I’ll make a brew and see if that helps me nod off…

Good morning Nicos and any other early risers/insomniacs.

I've hardly slept at all. I awoke about 3am feeling awful. I feel better now....I just can't sleep. Why is it that 8am is usually the magic time that I could happily sleep? I can't even hear any birds this morning and there's no sunshine.

Not much birdsong here today either. Or perhaps there is but I just can't hear it for the blackbird singing for all he's worth. He's loud today.

It's not too bad weatherwise, bramble, as the humidity where we live is very low. In fact, we were surprised at the humidity on the coast over the weekend. We'd forgotten what that was like. But for such a change in temperatures to happen virtually overnight, that is unusual. Anyway, the weather forecast says we'll get a storm this afternoon. Which is a nuisance as we have friends coming for lunch and I was hoping we'd be able to sit outside.

In fact, I'd better get on the case for lunch. Catch you all later.

Morning all.

The sunshine is here with me, GF, though it feels more chilly than yesterday. Not a breath of wind though. It seems we're not due rain till over the bank holiday weekend and half term week, which means my pots and seedlings will have to have tap water now as the water butt is empty. probably a good time to give it a clean out. I bet the bottom is a gloopy smelly mess as it's not had a clean out for quite a few years.
