  • Morning all, cold but sun trying her best, busy day today, all good stuff, had my phone call with a consultant yesterday,i must admit,it was easier than going to the hospital,he listened to me,re my condition last few weeks, result is i need a camera, both ends ,will be sent for within 3 weeks,it is also on his records that i am anaemic,my voice has improved a lot,but far from right, the coughing fits are still around as well,it wakes me up in the night,be glad when this is over with,as i am dreading the camera experience, had the throat done not long ago with samples taken, all ok,i will have to be sedated big time,MR will come with me,as they will not let me go after sedation,
Good news Bramble about the eyes,
Nothing wrong with the buns Snoop, you as bad as me,self critisize,
don't get me started on older peeps in hospital, the first thing they want to do is catheterize the patient, then it's either get out of bed for the day,or leave them, them that ring for attention are often ignored, they are deliberatly made to wait in lots off cases, food is shoved in front off peeps and assume everyone can feed themselves, these things i have seen, but must add that not all are like this, some actually care about the patient, the staff are not always as busy as they say, when they are hanging around chatting,
Got scotish power shortly, they want to change the mtre for a smart one,but i do not want it,so i have to stand up for myself and let them know i do know the law,and are not being bullied into having one,i tolled the office when i rang about it,i do not want a smart mtre, grrr, and cannot by law be forced into having one, best go now,as they have sent me a traker and they not far away, plus ,have moaned enough for now,and want some food, have a good day all

    • Good morning all, another bright and sunny day here.
Grory hop and a visit to the post office this morning and then we are visiting Joan this afternoon.
A hair appointment this evening so not a lot of time for gardening today,

Lottie, not to worry, the camera thing will be fine, it sou ds worse than it is.
Nicos, you sure are a busy bee, I could do with some of your energy,
Have a good day all and enjoy the sunshine.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

      • I'd just decided that I was going to get up early this morning and make coffee when my contrary brain decided it was ready to go to sleep. I woke up again 2 hours later.

I've got the washer on overtime.

I've just had another online shop delivered. They should stop offering me my favourite wine with 25% off if I buy 6 bottles. At least I won't have to buy any more for a while. All the dates on the food are really good as well. A full fridge always makes me happy.

Our 99 year old friend rang up again. He's still at home and sounds a little better but he's now got a urine infection to add to his problems. A doctor from our local surgery made a house call and spent an hour with him and he's on antibiotics now. He sounds much happier with life.

        • VINE OFFLINE BRIEFLY FRIDAY 11 APRIL

The Vine will be offline for quarter of an hour or so some time before 9.00 am tomorrow morning, as we're being moved to a new server. So if you arrive to find a notice saying the forum is temporarily unavailable or some such, try again a bit later.

If you have any problems afterwards, let us know and we'll see about getting it resolved.

Don't forget if you have difficulties staying logged in after the change, click the 'remember me' box. With any luck, that'll sort it. Thanks, Andraste, for that tip.

          • Good afternoon, another nice sunny day was busy yesterday showing youngest grandson how to use a pressure washer, though I left him to do the work I still kept an eye on him, so really just futtered about in the garden, and to be honest he has done a good job, he even got a "good job" from his gran, all I ever get is "yes it's fine" . Was at church he church coffee morning earlier and now working about the back garden, have planted out some onion plants and potted on tomatoes, the plants in the Polly tunnel are doing well I am going to put a max min. thermometer in side to see what the temperature drops to overnight if it holds reasonably well I will plant out a courgette, and yes I know its a bit early but nothing ventured, nothing gained. Have a good evening and keep smiling

ID:	2595273 thought I would try loading some photos of my poly tunnel I have not covered the complete tunnelling a net but think I will get that done rather than a full removable section as a door I can fold the sectional and the fixed pipe acts as a locking piece for the movable section

                        • Good pre-morning everyone.

I can't sleep. I think this cold is actually flu as I spent yesterday alternating between shivering and overheating. At one point I felt so cold I went for a drive in the car, which had been standing in the sun and was deliciously hot. Warmed me back up a treat. Now I'm at the blocked nose/streaming nose stage, plus a cough, and it's keeping me awake. Just made myself a cup of green tea and munching an apple too, both good cold soothers

I'm hoping the uphostery tacks will come today, then I can finish the last stage of the ottoman. The wadding and calico are stapled in place and the fabric is pinned, no more I can do now.

                          • I hope that you feel better soon, MH, and manage to get some sleep too. I'm just wide awake for no good reason.

                            • Mornin n’alln’all

**Just another heads up that we’ll be offline for a short time this morning.**

Pleased to say I had a broken 7 hrs of sleep last night, but I still feel tired I guess it takes some catching up.

MH…sorry to hear you’re not well. Sounds draining. Do you have a hot water bottle? Might be worth treating yourself to one if you haven’t? ( online shopping maybe if you don’t feel up to driving to the shops?)
Hope yesterday was the worst of it and you quickly improve xxx

Today is supposed to be the last dry day for a while so I really want to get the shed painted. It’s actually a small double bike shed (wide but shallow) and we keep garden chairs etc in there.I forgot to check so I hope we have enough coloured wood preserver!.

Apart from that, then I may well set too refreshing the benches and painted plant pots too! They can wait though if needs be.
Both our blowaways are full of seedlings now. Most of them not frost hardy. I think we went a bit bonkers a bit early this year

Right we’ll…I’m ready for a brew… anyone else fancy one?
MH..I’ve left a hottie and tray of hot buttered toast and jostaberry jam for you too.

Enjoy your day peeps and remember those smiles!

                              • Morning all again.

Thanks for the toast and jam, Nicos, it really hit the spot. I seem to be over the shivers now, but the hottie was welcome anyway.

I plan to set my beehive up in the garden today, and see if I can lure a swarm into it. It's a bit early, May is the best time, but with the warm weather we've been having I bet a lot of hives are already getting overcrowded. It'll be there ready, anyway, if and when.
