    • Morning all.

Sunny at the moment, but perishing cold and extremely windy. Hope the smiles make it through today and don't get too blown off course.

I was hoping to do some weeding today, but I'll freeze to the bone out there at the moment. Got some admin jobs that'll keep me busy in the meantime. Plus I'll try and make some food for in the week using up some of the veg in the delivery box.

Anyone keeping an eye out for the eclipse this morning?

      Have a great day, everyone.

      • Good morning.

A very cloudy 8°C here, with 12°C being the maximum forecast for later today, with sunny interludes.

My favourite wine? At the moment its a Malbec. Just the supermarkets house variety is fine. Going back a few years, when I used to drive through the tunnel and fetch our own back from France a couple of times a year, I used to bring a car boot full of Cabernet Syrah back for me and a bit of white wine for Mr GF. The only expense was our diesel for the car, obviously filling up in France before returning, as the wine supermarket in Calais would pay for a day return through the tunnel if you pre-ordered above a certain amount. It was sat waiting on a trolley when we got there. After the first time I went through the tunnel I never went by ferry again. I was a convert. So much more civilised, and no feeling sick.

I've now turned the TV on to watch James Martin. I'll watch and see if he gives me any inspiration.

            • I’m going to watch out for the eclipse

We have mostly cloud but it’s moving fast so hopefully I’ll catch a glimpse

Speaking of which…I need to find something to protect my eyes!

                  • Managed to take photos … by far the easiest way without looking.
                    Couldnt honestly notice any indentation.
Our son sent a piccie from near Sheffield though and you can see it on there

Snoop, our weather has finally improved...teo beautiful sunny days Thursday and Friday and it's 21 degs today.
We had our share of that cold wind as well, especially as we are on the coast.
Hope it improves for you soon.

                        • Good afternoon, was dull but dry this morning so decided to do some work on my poly tunnel, I had it covered but decided to remove and rebuild got the polythene off and got a bit of an old bed frame which I intend using as climbing frame for a trombonceno or a courgette, depending on whither the trombo seeds germinats, anyway positioned the frame and started cutting it with a grinder when it started raining and as it was getting heavier I had to stop as its not a good idea to be working with electric tools in heavy rain, so now in the house twiddling my fingers, I definitely won't be annoying OH as she will tell me to go and clean, tidy, move or any number of actions for me to do, its a case of let sleeping dogs lie, I think I will go and make a coffee, that way OH wont need to get off her chair, as thats generally when she sees something I have done wrong ,left laying about or dropped, you wives have no idea the pressures us husbands are under, the rains off I'm for outside again, have a good day for those with partners try and give them something to smile about, for those who don't have partners theres a whole world looking for something to make them smile, so keep smiling and pass them on

Well I never! Having said that, he's curled up on a dining chair and has been asleep since one o'clock!

the shortest sentence in the English language for a man to say is

                              I am.
