Morning all.

Going to be a grim day today. Already in the low thirties and it's not even 8.30 am here... I shall be taking refuge in my basement cave for as much of the day as possible.

Not much on the cards, or at least not yet. Except brunch, washing up and a good long nap.

Good morning.

I've been awake for ages again and it feels uncomfortably warm here. I'm thinking I'll just get up and have a cool shower and a coffee, but I know I really haven't had enough sleep.

Mr GF has just awoken now so at least l've got someone to talk to.

Evidently we've got a 77% chance of rain in the early hours of tomorrow morning, so hopefully that may make things less sticky.

I usually do a grory hop on a Wednesday but I'm trying to find excuses to put it off today. I also need to have a trip to one of the bigger supermarkets for chicken livers in the next few days as I
have been really fancying some pâté recently and I don't really like the taste of any shop bought ones. Nice pâté, crusty bread and salad....yum!

It's definitely more reasonable hour now for getting up, so I think I'll make coffee. Mr GF has, of course, dropped back to sleep.

My favourite always used to be the oyster wafer …mostly the one dipped in chocolate then coconut. Are those still around?

All the plants in the greenhouse are watered and we have decided to have a day out.
Driving up the coast to one of our old haunts.
I'm sure we'll have some ice cream at some stage as well.

We finally had our storm!
Mostly thunder and a few big sploshes of rain…and now it’s reduced to flashes in the night sky.
Very humid.

Our mirabelle tree is dropping about 4kg fruit a day. Never, ever had this many so it’s quite a shock! Absolutely delicious though!

Grory hop tomorrow instead, after that, I’m not quite sure.

1st August already…wow…that’s suddenly arrived

So far it’s sunny and humid , but thankfully not as hot as previously so hopefully some time in the garden today …and no doubt collecting more mirabelles off the floor!
First of all though, a grory hop!

A hot and sticky night here, but eventually we got some rain which seemed to clear the air slightly. The rain has gone now but there are still drops hanging from the washing line and glistening amid the grass.

I absolutely must do a grory hop today. I have been putting it off and my list is ever growing.

Out with my daughter as she has a free day, looks like a bit of retail therapy.

Afternoon all.

Yes, Bramble, it's all becoming a bit routine now. Got another visit next week by the look of it. Plus more work requiring jabs and drills in September. I don't mind the jabs so much, but the sound of the drills really gets me in a childish tizz.

Did a mini grory hop today and am now shifting things around between our fridges. The gas one isn't coping very well with the high temperatures. Personally, I'd stick in another couple of solar panels and a small set of batteries and replace it with another electric one, but we've got plenty of other things to do as well. Next summer...

Once I've done that, I'm off for a good nap.
