Tell me about it!D ha s just learnt to ride without stabilisers & I feel such a meanie telling her she can only bike on pavements with a wide grass verge otherwise she has to walk & push her bike~my friends boy's allowed to bike anywhere & is very good but seeing him fall off straight into the road has in my mind justified my decision(thankfully there wereno cars but they come down said street at phenominal(sc) speeds!I'm all for encouraging my kiddies to take risks & learn from their falls but not if it's a fall they mightn't be around to learn from!

Accidents do happen, when I was a teenager near my home I was cycling at around 45MPH (downhill) when my chain slipped and jammed, it caused my bike to through me over the handlebars where I landed on top of the bonnet of an oncoming vehicle. If it had been going a little slower or quicker, I probably wouldn't be here (helmets weren't used then).
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
