Well, we broke the no-booze rule last night. But were quite abstemious by our usual standards. Half a bottle between us, though I had more than my fair share. Other half to go tonight.

Been admiring my weed patch just now. I think I'll have to take a scythe to it before I can even get started on the weeding. The ground has been too wet for weeks for me to do anything with it. Perfect conditions for the weeds, though.

Just received an email from Marks and Spencer. All front line staff receiving a 15% pay rise. Good for M&S.

Have also introduced an online top up card so you can pay for someone else's shopping. Great idea.

I buy for more than one person. I don't want cash because shops don't want cash, understandably. Be good if a few more places went down this road, but most of my sister's groceries come from Aldi. Somehow I can't see them going for this!
