  • I took some frozen chicken livers out of the freezer last night so I'll be making a few pots of chicken liver pate later. I'll have one with a big salad and garlic bread.

    • Roast chicken with as much veg as I can pile on the plate.

        • Well, last night's chicken liver pate was, I think, the nicest that I've ever made. It was a little bit softer than usual. The only difference to the recipe was that the brandy bottle slipped "slightly" when I was adding it and I think rather more than the 2 tablespoons required glugged in. What's even better? There's 3 portions in the freezer now.

I got a chicken leg out of the freezer to defrost last night. I'll cook it later in the airfryer. I am trying to decide what to have with it. I think I might settle for roast vegetables and couscous unless I get a better idea.

                • Himself must be losing lots of weight, Flo. Seems like a long time since he had a decent meal.

As for us tonight, we've got a ready meal Mr Snoop fancied. Clearly I'm not giving him enough food swamped in bechamel sauce. No idea what's underneath the gloop. Lasagne possibly. Or just more bechamel. The blurb is on the bottom of the packet and I daren't turn it over to see what it says in case it goes all over the place. Even holding it up high enough so I can read it feels a bit risky. It's a single-serving meal, judging by the size of it, but enough calories for a whole family I bet. Anyway, all will be revealed later. I'll make a salad as well and have that if I don't fancy a mystery bowl of mush when the time comes to eat it.

Yes! He enjoyed it. First proper meal (although he did manage tiny portions of the mince hash for two days) for two weeks. He's had to take his wedding ring off for now Snoop - he lost it twice last week so there is some weight loss.

He's fancying a roast pork Justa today. I'm making an Apple pie with custard in case he finds it hard

                      • All change. I can't be doing with the ready meal before bedtime. I've just been and inspected it. Five cheeses lasagna. Beans on toast today, I reckon.

                        • My plans have all gone awry. Therefore it's pizza and salad. I've already eaten the salad while I'm waiting for the pizza to cook.
