Hope the cloud clears up. We thought about driving out to Ebbor Gorge, which has a real 'big sky' view so them from there.

It's total cloud cover at the moment though and I think it's set to stay that way

We sat up until 3am on a freezing November morning when we lived in deepest Aberdeenshire to watch a meteor shower once....fabulous!

That was probably the Leonid meteor shower and we did the same in 2004, it was fantastic

                    It's like a huge-scale, nightime snowball fight!

I didn't realise, but you can see shooting stars every night, you just need a clear sky and you have to look carefully.

I'll be walking home at about 10 o'clock tonight so will try and remember to have a look.

Such a shame that they always seem to be in the early hours on a week night, I think I'll miss this one as well, I'll never get up for work in the morning if I try to watch.

                              Phooey!

Just watched a reply of the lunchtime forecast for our area today. Apparently, it has been sunny all day. I didn't see any sunshine, maybe it was obscured by the low cloud and rain?

What has happened to weather forecasting recently? It sucks.

Doesn't look like we'll see much tonight if the forecast is to be believed, so I'm all for donning warm gear, packing flasks and heading out to Ebbor as it's bound to be wrong!

Yes, twas the Leonids....very spectacular they were too. I love all this astronomical stuff.
