  • I really am stuck!

It's LadyWaynes birthday on Friday and I'm struggling for inspiration.

Anyone got any ideas for places that sell unusual gifts (online). Not the IWantOneOfThose or Firebox type places.

I've bought a couple of little things, but looking for something as bit left of centre.

She doesn't really have any hobbies, no real interest in anything particular (apart from shopping) and doesn't want anything alcoholic or chocolate related...

    Anyone with any ideas?

Shopping ... I always like eBay vouchers, or fabric shop vouchers. Dull, but useful.

For my 40th I got a trip to New York and a trip to our favourite theatre to watch some Burlesque on 37th St.

        I typed into google
'last minute present lady' and found the treat her website. Any good?

Treat her - Gifts for her, women’s gift, birthday gifts for her, anniversary & romantic gift idea for women

P.S. - just seen the 'I love you' toaster - AAH

What about booking her a massage, facial or manicure at the salon (don't be a cheapskate and offer to do it yourself!), something she might not normally treat herself to. Lots of places do special packages where you can have lunch, or a glass of bubbly while your being pampered.

Or, a real treat - you could take her on a spending spree and promise not to complain! If only my OH would do that for me...

I've done the spa thing before and I'm not a big fan of vouchers (unless asked for). No point in me taking her shopping, she works smack bang next to 'arrods, so I can't afford one of her shopping sprees.

As for the New York idea, I'm still recovering from her 30th last year when I took her here: The Waterside Inn

We stayed in the Oarsman suite, had a massage each, dinner, breakfast, and some other gifts in the room (chocolates, flowers etc).

I've found a lovely website recently that sells homemade stuff from all over the world, there's some excellent artisan pieces on there. You can find it at Etsy :: Your place to buy and sell all things handmade.

Okay, you should have qualified your first post by saying that you are incredibly generous when it comes to gifts. I got chuff all from my OH last month - he thought I was buying something for myself!

you beat me to it!!although i was thinking more the socialist party membership!
for the serious suggestion~have you room for a fruit tree?I dropped many a hint to andi that he could get me one for my birthday(think next year i might just pop out with his bankcard),also for the slushy suggestion how about preparing an exotic picnic, packup some wellies & macs & jet of for a romantic(if not tropical!)picnic to somewhere remote.

What about some of those fancy wellies so she can come and help you on the lottie...actually, my friend gave me some beautiful suede gardening gloves from Laura Ashley's new range...might be worth a look.

Wayne as slave boy for 24 hours?

Day out somewhere funky with a market and swanky eaterries?

What about one of those virtual presents where you send money to a worthwhile charity etc [googled 'lady wayne's birthday pressie' and 2 came up - there's nothing like being literal].

Have you asked her what she wants?
