    The Chat Thread

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The idea is of this thread is, that people can pop in when they have 5 minutes, put their feet up, have a little cuppa and a slice of cake (or a glass of something nice if the sun's over't' yard arm) and a bit of a natter. A place for the chat that doesn't really fit in What I Did Today, or doesn't warrant a whole new thread. Then every so often (maybe daily, or weekly depending how quickly it grows ) we'll clear the thread so it doesn't get too big & unwieldy.

The name for the thread isn't set in stone, so if anyone has a better idea, suggest away

    Settle in and enjoy folks!

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

The thread will be cleared when it gets to around 1000 posts, with the last few posts carried over

    Another bright day here today...

Morning All...We are lost in murk. Again. The laundry is on and is going out on the line regardless.

Feeling a bit better this morning - or I was until I came downstairs and realised the kitchen had been left for me to clean up. That's a lovely start to the day. Anyhoo.....I'm home alone and I've got an hour's peace, which is a better start.

I would like to present the SinL with a bill for that cushion, but my MinL knows full well that I can't say anything because if'n I upset any of them the commissions will stop. I wondered how long the niceness would last...... I think the way around it is to make cushions out of fabric I'll buy, then say clearly that if anyone wants it, it's £££. I could put a wee hang tag on it with the price.

I must do some cutting out, at least, today.

But meanwhile, it's quiet and peaceful. Coffee?

Yes please Jules! Good idea re the price tag, mate.

Moooooooooooornin' Peeps - we have murk too, very heavy mist, I think, but the Laundry is on the line anyway, just in case it brightens up later when I'm out.

        You lot OK?

Hi all, tagging sounds good Jules. You need to be upfront with prices or people take advantage.

Just come off 3 nights, meeting at the hall this evening - got away early, a bit ticked with son over stuff not done. Feeling a might short on patience, can't imagine why.

Watered the seeds I put in before nights. Cuttings still soaking. House still a mess

                Afternoon All......

I haven't done any sewing. Again. My bad.

But....I have completely finished mapping the bathroom, including some creative topographical rearrangement in the lower reaches of the Welsh Valleys. I couldn't be bothered to hunt down another vintage OS One Inch, just to use two squares of it lopped off the bottom. Just need to go in there later with the waterproof PVA and seal in the bits I've put up today. This is not to say that the whole bathroom is finished, but it's getting that way. Hurrah!

On the lurgy front my chest is burning and a cough has developed. But I do feel better in myself this afternoon - I think the damp misty air is helping, although the sun is trying to break through. Damp, cool air and magic medicine - good stuff.

Coffee, anyone? Although I'm drinking cold milk as it's very soothing.....

Evening I've spent the whole day outdoors in my shorts did a bit of potting on, took out some sweetpeas that had finished then sat reading so a perfect day.

Jules lets hope having a price tag will be enough to put SiL off from taking another cushion.

Evening All. Did I tell you that next door neighbours did the shaped (not square) jigsaw youngest GG bought me for Saturnalia last year? It's a collage of owls and is quite stunning. The pieces were so tiny it would have taken me ages, but they did it in 2 or 3 days. I fancied hanging it on the shed door, so they stuck it together with masking tape on the back. Do you think it would survive the elements if I varnish it with something?

Jules, re the ruddy cushion again - could you tell the thieving moo that it already has a home, and the buyer keeps asking for it!?
