  • James Wong's Homegrown Revolution

As it says above, a new book and a new range of unusual edible plant seeds available from Suttons. Don't know whether there will be a TV programme to support it.
Sutton's have a special offer - the book and 6 packets of seeds for £20 but P&P is £4.95.
James Wong Seeds - Homegrown revolution - Suttons Seeds and Plants
OR Amazon have the book for £11.20 with free P&P James Wong's Homegrown Revolution: Amazon.co.uk: James Wong: Books
If anyone spots the book on sale could they give me a shout as I'm tempted Like the look of some of the seeds too and at £1.85 they're not too expensive.

I had a look at the book the other day. It's got £6 off already in WHS. Probably half price in the supermarkets. I can't say I fancied that many of the recipes to be honest. Bit too wacky for me!

Thanks VVG. I'm not interested in the recipes really, more in growing unusual plants that are also edible and decorative. For example, I eat day lilies but have never thought of dahlia tubers before! So if I can have flowers and food from the same plant, I'm a happy chicken

Many thanks Darcy, I've ordered both and another book and the offer code is still valid. I can spend the p&p I've saved on seeds

VC - Don't buy Cucamelon seeds!Think I have Asparagus pea too, if you want it or find it on sale for 50p at Wyevale. If you haven't got one near you, I can go and see if they still have them at mine.

Thanks VVG. I have Asparagus pea, Callaloo, Japanese beefsteak aka perilla. In fact I'm going through my seed list now so that I don't buy duplicates.
Have you grown Cucamelons and are they any good?

I found these seeds at a garden centre recently and really fancied growing some of them. I didn't know there was a cookbook too. I bought some cucamelon seeds and can't wait to have a go at growing them. I have no idea what they taste like - they just looked like they would be fun to grow
